MOD-Driver to install AVID - Media Composer?

Is anyone aware if a modded INF/driver would allow me to install AVID - Media Composer?

Here are the details of what is happening and what I've learned from other support pages:

I installed software but when I go to run it it just crashes with no error message.

AVID - Media Composer 3.1.2

System DELL XPS 1530,

IntelĀ® Core 2 Duo Processor T8300 (2.4GHz/800Mhz FSB, 3MB Cache)

Memory 4GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz (2 Dimms)

Video Card 256MB NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT

Windows Vista Business 32 bit

Hard Drives Ultra Performance: 256GB Solid State Drive

I gather that the software will only supprt certain Nvidia drivers (maybe just quantro) and figure this is why it is crashing upon startup.

I'm not sure if it is because it is a gforce or if it because it is a laptop version of he card/driver.

Has anyone tried to install this software successfully on a gforce 8600 GTS card or 8600M GT?

Do you think using a modded INF/driver to trick it into thinking it's a quantro will do me any good?

Any and all suggestions are welcome
