This is a bit of a long shot,

if you have ever heard of the train simulator bve by mackoy then you will know of the issues with nvidia graphics cards not working with it

i today purchased a geforce 9400 gt but the drivers do not work with this game

the last known driver that was to work with bve was 93.81, is there anyway that somebody can modifiy an inf to work with this driver

ive tried modding it myself but with no avail,

windows xp 64 based

Even with modding, I think you will have problems with this driver, cause the 93.81 are from 2006, at that time, the midrange geforce 8 and the geforce 9 didn't even exist yet...

But if you really want to try, search for the device ID's in the inf of your official drivers of your 9400 GT, and place them into the inf for the 93.81

i tried somthing like, that,

i copied a few lines out of the original inf file and put them in the older inf file, does it matter where you insert them in the inf file

You may need to change the ID line to place it correctly into the .inf ;

If you want to try it:

Download 93.81 XP x64

Download the modded .inf

Open the modded .inf with a text editor

Between some ID's under the ";Desktop PCI-ID's by www.laptopvideo2go.com" part of the inf, add :

%NVIDIA_C79.DEV_0861.1% = nv4_NV3x, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0861

Then look for the ";Desktop GPU's by www.laptopvideo2go.com" part of the inf, and add

NVIDIA_C79.DEV_0861.1 = "NVIDIA GeForce 9400"

Place the modded .inf in the right place and try to install the driver

As I dont have a 9400 GT I haven't tested it :) But it should work

Sounds like you didn't uninstall the old drivers first.
