Guest Praveer Nidamaluri
hey guys, i'm no techy so i just wanted some advice. I'm looking for a laptop for work and the occasional game preferably below US$1500. What do you think of this? Alienware Area 51 15x 15.4" 1440x900 lcd with clearview technology 512mb ati radeon hd 3870 Intel Core 2 Duo 2.1ghz Vista 32 bit home premium 2gb ram (2x1gb) (I already have a 2gb ram chip so i can increase the ram to 3gb) Intel Turbo Cache Memory 1gb 160gb ram (i have an external so i really dont need more) Alien fx eclusive lighting All that and an extra smart bay battery came out to US$1,454. What do you think? I was just unsure about the battery life of such a laptop. It has the option to switch to an integrated graphics card when the main one is not needed so that should increase the life significantly, but I dont know by how much. If you think theres another laptop on the market thats better please tell me. Thanks a lot
Galdere
Alienware don't offer good value. You want to be looking at something more like this for $1500: http://www.sagernotebook.com/product_customed.php?pid=160092

Galdere
You're welcome. I'm not sure of the battery life, but using the right power options and even without the integrated, it should be comparable to the Alienware and an all round better machine.
