dandruff
I did that, but it still did not work. Let me be more specific. I replaced the Pin, GPIO, and /filter/ sections with my sound card's originals. Guest Will
So... I'm the guy who posted earlier that I have an e1705 that my wife broke the headphone jack on. I finally got idt_6233 to work (kinda). The configuration is the same as the posters (9400) so I didn't have to mod the driver in that respect. Unfortunately the options to override speaker mute don't work at all. What I did was I copied the contents of PIN 10 (mic) to PIN 0D (headphone) to fool the driver into thinking I have two mic ports. As soon as I did that, the headphone picture went away, speaker picture showed up, control panel shows 2 mic ports, and I now have sound (YAY!!!!). Unfortunately, I still don't have a subwoofer (and the microsoft audio configuration says none present). Any idea how to enable the subwoofer in these drivers??? mobilenvidia
Ah I see, the 1700 uses the Sigmatel 9200 an ancient Codec. You are really buggered, there simply are no new drivers for this at all. Your best bet is to grab my modded version and spend hours fiddling with the INI to get it to work for your setup. Guest Sgt. Slaughter
Which one should I download for my Dell XPS M1710? I just upgraded to Win7 and am using the old Sigmatel codec for vista but somehow have lost my function of my mute button on my computer now and have to manually click on the icon to mute now. Looking for the latest and best one for it.
Guest Gateway T-1620 T1620 T1616
Hi there, I just installed Windows 7 on my Gateway T-1620 (T1620), similar hardware to the T-1616 (T1616) It has HDMI, mic and headphone. The headphone jack is ALSO the SPDIF output for digital audio. Windows 7 installs its default driver, but no advance features which I need. I'm totally clueless on what to do. I know I hear about replacing the WRT file, but don't know how to make one or which one to go with. colinhd8
Thank you for your driver.I installed it on my laptop(sony fz90hs, soundcard hardware id :HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_8384&DEV_7662&SUBSYS_104D1C00&REV_1002 HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_8384&DEV_7662&SUBSYS_104D1C00). I found some problems: 1.The file of STWRT.INF should be saved with UTF-8,else the other language string will not be displayed correct. For example:the chinese string will be displayed like spdif (?? hp ???). 2.shoud the filter section in the wrt.ini be replaced by the original? I found it cant't work when i do so. Thanks. by the way, I can't find the control pane like this: this is mine: Edited November 23, 2009 by colinhd8

I just got a Vostro 1500 (similar STAC9205 sound) working on Win7x86. I used the Dell 6227 as the base and added my chip. I noticed the Dell 6233 stops supporting the older codecs, so 6227 may be the best we can do. I don't think it supports SRS Premium (working on it). My Vostro 1500 just has 2 speakers, HP jack and Mic jack (very simple). Also have mic for Webcam. Is that the same for your Vostro 1700? Guest Brill
Hey guys... I have a 6860FX with Windows 7 HP installed...For months now I have been trying to get every driver to install but they wont for some reason. I can only get the default 5939 driver working, but my mic array does not work at all which is my main concern. I have modified many infs, changed some settings, etc but to no avail. I am desperate at this point and wondering if anyone with the same situation who found a solution like Billy Reuben I think it was.... please layout some steps for me to follow because I am close to just ripping out my IDT piece of crap haha. Also, I understand about editing and configuring the WRTs so the drivers recognize them, but what do you mean by Pins and Filters? How and where do you edit them? I know I have asked a lot, but I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you for your time. -Brill

d3v
I have a souped-up / maxed-out Vostro 1500 and the lack of a decent audio driver has been a bone of contention for me. Every thread on here shows promise; every driver tells me to f' off. I tried adding your modded INI to the latest Dell drivers and got a slightly different f'off message from the unmodded one! That was nice of them. Dell has only Vista x86 drivers. I have Win7 Ultimate x64 and am using MS supplied drivers:- High Definition Audio Device; Microsoft; 13/07/2009; 6.1.7600.16385 I have no control panel to speak of and, if MIDI plays, it is at full volume and I can't even disable it via any master volume mute. When I was on XP Pro I had to put up with the ONE only 5h177y old 5.10.5155 driver release from Dell. Now I am on Win7 it is a similar f'ing story but with NO official driver, only an MS stripped out one. None of the drivers in any of the threads have worked on my computer, except the Michael's Modded ones for XP. Why do Dell release IDT drivers that always exclude my machine? What is wrong with the component, that they are hiding? I do not know how to do the "Pin" messing around that some guys talk about in the other threads. I've only ever c&p'ed Device IDs into Inf files in the past. How can I even, if I don't have an x64 driver other than what I stated from MS? There must be many others with Vostro 1500s!? Guest pred
Heres what i did to get it to work with my inspiron 1520: HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_8384&DEV_76A0&SUBSYS_102802F1&REV_1002. i believe it's the same as the vostro 1500. 1. download Version 6.10.6255.0 DriverVer=11/06/2009,6.10.0.6255 Vista/Windows 7 x32/x64 from the first page 2. extract everything into a folder 3. open up wrt.ini 4. delete away the pin section including the header 5. install and restart note: the icon in the task bar shows disabled as many have reported. i also have the problem of crackling/static/popping sounds whenever a sound is played. i.e. when playing music and the messenger pops up with notifications it plays a sound which causes the music to have static. when music is started there would also be that sound. if anyone knows how to solve it let me know, thanks :)
Guest pred
after installing again, i realised that ONLY replacing with the pin section from original ini works too but it also shows the disabled icon which might mislead people to think that it failed or code 10 error. but i didn't see a difference with not adding it. now to find out how to get back a non disabled icon...... Guest Necromas
Heres what i did to get it to work with my inspiron 1520: HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_8384&DEV_76A0&SUBSYS_102802F1&REV_1002. i believe it's the same as the vostro 1500. 1. download Version 6.10.6255.0 DriverVer=11/06/2009,6.10.0.6255 Vista/Windows 7 x32/x64 from the first page 2. extract everything into a folder 3. open up wrt.ini 4. delete away the pin section including the header 5. install and restart note: the icon in the task bar shows disabled as many have reported. i also have the problem of crackling/static/popping sounds whenever a sound is played. i.e. when playing music and the messenger pops up with notifications it plays a sound which causes the music to have static. when music is started there would also be that sound. if anyone knows how to solve it let me know, thanks :) This worked on my inspiron 1520 as well, thanks! I love the equalizer!
Guest pred
after installing again the 3rd time i learnt some new stuff on my inspiron 1520 1. in order for everything i did in my previous posts to work, a fresh installation is needed as is written on the first page by mobilenvidia, meaning uninstall original driver and restart. 2. in order to solve the no icon problem in the sound panel, go to the properties of the device in the sound panel and under the name is 'change icon'. browse to C:\Windows\System32\mmsys.cpl (select view all files) and there u have the full original set of icons. this doesnt solve the disabled icon problem though. anione keen on enlightening that? 3. the popping and crackling sound disappeared by itself on my 2nd install after some time, maybe it was due to my playing with all the settings but i changed everything to the original settings after it went away and it never came back. but then it came back after my 3rd install and hasnt gone yet so..... no idea too :) before i forget, thanks mobilenvidia for this great driver :)
Guest pred
after my 3rd install, i learnt some new stuff on my inspiron 1520 1. in order for everything i posted above to work, a fresh install is needed as stated by mobilenvidia on the first page, meaning uninstall the original driver and restart. else it would not work 2. to solve the blank space or no icon problem in the sound control panel, just go to properties of the playback device or recording device and choose 'choose icon' under the name field. select view all files and browse to C:\Windows\System32\mmsys.cpl (vista 32bit, for xp i tink it is C:\WINTT\System32, not sure, has been a long time since i used it). and there u have it, the full set of original icons. 3. the popping and crackling sound disappered by itself on my 2nd install after some time and playing with settings though i m quite sure the settings were the same as original in the end and it never came back. but it came back again after my 3rd reinstall and havent gone since, no idea how to fix it. before i forget, great thanks to mobilenvidia for the wonderful drivers, it sounds better even without the srs settings :)

Guest pred
nvm everything works like a charm after sometime on my 3rd install again. i think just give the driver some time to warm up and the popping crackling noise will disappear on its own, peace \/ (^.^) \/
