Guest pred
erm...haha maybe this is unnecessary but after looking at the new thread 'nasty pop and clicks..' i think the solution for the popping and crackling sound is to just turn the power management setting in preferences of the idt control panel. if i remembered correctly when i played with my settings on my second installation changing the 'time till power management' from 0 to some 5min or 20min works too. i think the problem is with the sound device having to start again everytime no sound is played. it's the same sound u hear when the computer starts up, it's obvious only when u r wearing headphones

sqrach
That's cool I had tried that IDT driver from itel before and it never worked I had sigmatel I didn't think this would install because after I restarted windows reinstalled the sigmatel audio but I have been messing with all this so much I just tried your IDT driver anyway and it worked I had audio functioning before but this is so much better whoever is responsible for this is awesome :) a problem I had and still seem to have is audio latency with 7 not XP it might be less with this now but I still detect it any ideas? I figured it out somehow with all the options with this driver overall this is still a major improvement Thanks Edited December 10, 2009 by sqrach
Guest pablo
I have a Dell XPS 410, Windows 7. Trying to update the audio drivers, as the sound gets static and stretch-like. But after I install these drivers, I get no sound at all, and have a disabled sound icon. The IDT control panel doesn't launch, it freezes up. What should I do? Guest iCeMaN
Dear guys, first at all thank u for this thread. On my M1710 I've tried to install a lot of drivers and the IDT version is absolutely the best, anyway I still have a problem: the 4.1 seems not to work. If I try to change it from IDT control panel... the speaker configuration stays on STEREO.
Guest sirkuz
I have a souped-up / maxed-out Vostro 1500 and the lack of a decent audio driver has been a bone of contention for me. Every thread on here shows promise; every driver tells me to f' off. I tried adding your modded INI to the latest Dell drivers and got a slightly different f'off message from the unmodded one! That was nice of them. Dell has only Vista x86 drivers. I have Win7 Ultimate x64 and am using MS supplied drivers:- High Definition Audio Device; Microsoft; 13/07/2009; 6.1.7600.16385 I have no control panel to speak of and, if MIDI plays, it is at full volume and I can't even disable it via any master volume mute. When I was on XP Pro I had to put up with the ONE only 5h177y old 5.10.5155 driver release from Dell. Now I am on Win7 it is a similar f'ing story but with NO official driver, only an MS stripped out one. None of the drivers in any of the threads have worked on my computer, except the Michael's Modded ones for XP. Why do Dell release IDT drivers that always exclude my machine? What is wrong with the component, that they are hiding? I do not know how to do the "Pin" messing around that some guys talk about in the other threads. I've only ever c&p'ed Device IDs into Inf files in the past. How can I even, if I don't have an x64 driver other than what I stated from MS? There must be many others with Vostro 1500s!? Device ID: HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_8384&DEV_76A0&SUBSYS_10280228&REV_1002 I am in the same boat as you man... I can't get anything decent to work other than the default Win7 x64 drivers. Does anyone have a working solution for this device under 7x64?

Guest Happy Sound
Unfortunately, on my Dell Latitude D630 Windows 7 64, your unaltered drivers do not work. Nor when I replace the PIN settings in your modded ini. What happens is that after I run setup and restart the laptop, windows reports that there are no audio devices installed. Also, if I look in add remove programs, there is no IDT software installed. Any idea whats happening here and what I could try to fix it? Rangelo
I just wanted to say THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH! I worked for Microsoft last year and was able to get the RTM of Windows 7 a few days ago and my HDMI audio would never spit out 5.1 dolby on movies to my receiver. This driver changed all of that I have a Sony VGN-FZ290 laptop with a HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_8384&DEV_7662&SUBSYS_104D1C00&REV_1002 HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_8384&DEV_7662&SUBSYS_104D1C00 audio card. I was able to take the Sony default Vista drivers for 32-bit and your hybrid drivers (6187) and make a new hybrid that worked. I used a program called Universal Extractor to take the sony drivers.exe file and spit out a folder of all contents and was then faced with several WDM files to pick through. I tracked down the one for my device ID and pulled out the pin, gpio, and connselector and put it into the WDM file. This did not work when I was trying to install. I then went back and found the 1.008 beta INF file and tried to do the same thing.. Again, did not work. I ended up working in the STWRT64.INF where I did all my edits. To be honest, I really can't tell you what all I changed because I don't know. I tried so many different combinations and I was so happy to get it working I didn't write anything down. When I have some time I will run a file comparison on the original folder vs. the new folder that works. Thank you so much for helping me!!! Please help I have a Vaio VGX-TP25 and I have no audio via HDMI since upgrading to Win 7 64bit. I downloaded the same driver 6187 as you but I am unable to complete the next steps. Thanks Edited December 29, 2009 by Rangelo
Guest Dwoods
I have a XPS 420, just installed clean Windows 7. I downloaded latest drivers from this forum. It keeps telling me to uninstall the Sigmatel driver, but I don't see it in Control Panel > Programs and if I look in device manager it only shows the generic hd audio driver (which i tried to uninstall). Any ideas how to get setup to run?
Guest Andrew
Hi, Awesome work, But I dont see it working on the HP HDX 18t. I uninstalled it and re-installed it again. I now finally Have it where it only shows my HDMI port. I have no idea if it will work. Can someone look into this information
Guest Travis
Model: HP HDX 16T Device IDS: - HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_111D&DEV_76B2&SUBSYS_103C361B&REV_1003 - HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_111D&DEV_76B2&SUBSYS_103C361B Driver Version: 6.10.6255 Problems: - Treble/Bass Slider doesn't work - Mute button works, but always shows Orange (even when not muted) - HDMI doesn't seem to have Dolby 5.1 output option Question: In the Device manager the other device listed in sound is the nVidia HD audio. Is that the driver that handles audio output through the HDMI port? If so, I assume it's that driver that will have to enable Dolby Digital Live output? Guest Blackheaert
Hi. I have a Dell XPX M1330. Since I updated my laptop to Windwos 7 (64 bit) I have no more Sound. So I decided to try this driver. I could successfully install the version 6.10.6255.0 but after a restart still no sounds. When I check to "Hardware & Sound" it says THERE IS NO AUDIO-DEVICE INSTALLED. When I go to "Device-Manager" there I can find the IDT High Definition Codec but there it says "The Device can not be started (Code 10) Any ideas?
