Guest Guest
I tested the last ini for xps m1530 it's finally working i mean sound and no error 10 but what I noticed: - x on sound icon next to clock only when speakers are default no x on spdif as default, - there is spdif instead of hdmi (i don't know if it's working i will try later), - no icon for speakears, - no sound from subwoofer, - no sound when i turn off the effects LFX GFX no matter witch, - something wrong with tone controls i can set bass or treble from -94 to 6, - 3 mics, - In control panel in jacks control on first jakc i have headphones and nothing (it should be Front speakers), - in control panel srs is always deactivated, - in control panel on this page witch is too big and you can't see what is at right i have spdif and hdmi i can enable both but control only spdif ( I suppsose i shouldn't have spdif), - the same place but dolby control i can change everything for speakers nothing for spdif, - i can only set 2 chanels for spdif in properties, If I can help with something let me know. Beyond
I found out what's the problem that can't turn off SRS premium and when choose video or game it reverts to music. It works fine in english version. Now i installed mui pack pt-pt and IDT control panel changed to portuguese too. Now after it changes language i have the exact same problem. Pieter you have any clue of what could be causing this?
mobilenvidia
Do you have any other SRS apps installed, I get the same thing if I install SRS prem sound. It won't let me change anything in the IDT SRS CP. But once I unistall other SRS app the IDT SRS CP works again.

laighean13
Anyone had any luck with jacks for the XPS 1730?
mobilenvidia
Works here now with the modded drivers, still the volume icon doesn't.. and I dont want to go back to dells useless drivers!Actually, it is using the SPIDF out, instead of normal speakers.. but that is the modded driver problem! What is your 1710's IDT SUBSYS number ? or attach your original INI here I'll see what I can do.
aliveanddead86
Thank you Mobilenvidia! koguna
I have test it on Windows 7 7100 x64 M1730 and it's work :) I haven't test Jack and I'm not sur the subwoofer works (it's possible to test it ?). And in control panel Dolby Natural Bass don't works. I check it and apply and the box return unchecked... Thank you...
laighean13
I've been tinkering around with the WRT_m1730_49 ini. I was looking over the .ini in the most recent functional Dell Sigmatel driver, and it includes a section regarding the jack configuration. I tried cutting it and pasting it into the _49 ini, but it failed to work. Anyone have any ideas? If need be I can post the entirety of the functioning Dell ini. Some settings from old drivers will not work with newer drivers (especially any 'render' settings) IDT changed the driver format at some point (early 6000's) and this means you cannot juts copy and paste all settings any more. And why it took me forever to get to where I am now :)

I've made a M1710 INI over here The i9400 and M1710 are almost identical machines, so it should work as well as it does on mine. But you will needed the modded driver, and just replace the included INI with M1710 modded one. Uninstall old driver then install new modded one (vital process)
aliveanddead86
Thanks for that, but I'm getting code 10's now, driver cannot start, any ideas?
mobilenvidia
Thanks for that, but I'm getting code 10's now, driver cannot start, any ideas? Made some adjustments, give it another try Would have thought all the filters would have worked for the M1710. You will notice some sections in the INI with ';' in front of them have a play with these. You will need to uninstall driver each time you try something, but you won't need to reboot to check for the code
aliveanddead86
Ive been doing some messing around with it, if I change the PINS ONLY from the original 9400 one to m1710, I get a code 10... I think thats where the problem is?? Edit Found out the line "AltCfg = hex: 1F,13,44,01,40,13,44,01" is causing the code 10.. However now I have no sound output... Pin09 is for SPDIF out, wonder why the M1710 has alternative setting for it. Below has the alternate config number used for the pin, this may allow sound to come through speakers as I think it is sending it to the SPDIF port. It should default to this setting. ';' infront means it won't get used so you can leave the line below in for reference. [HKR\Settings\Pin\09]CfgDflt = dword: 0x01441340 ;AltCfg = hex: 1F,13,44,01,40,13,44,01 GpiForPinSense = dword: 0x202 It must sense something else to get SPDIF or Sound out. Where is the SPDIF out on the M1710 is it combined with SVideo

Try it various ways, maybe this first then the above or vice versa. If we can get this sorted I can fix the M1710 INI and future INI's will be a breeze to update and make work :)
aliveanddead86
I'm pretty sure it is through S-vid, although have never actually used it... Funny how that works with the volume mixer, but the normal speaker output doesnt! Haven't had the time to mess around with this recently, will look through it all tomorrow and see what happens. Don't get the code10 problem with the alt config, espeicially as it is the PINs used from the original INI! Do I keep both the original pin09 detect, plus the other one in the saem INI? Meaning keep: "[HKLM\SOFTWARE\SigmaTel\STSysTray\1.0\EventExpressions]", plus adding in the: "[HKLM\SOFTWARE\IDT\Config\EventExpressions]" modified one Edited May 31, 2009 by aliveanddead86

aliveanddead86
Added both into the INI, and swapped, still get the same problem, I have added a screen shot to show what I mean, notice how the icon has the cross through it, plus the SPDIF is the only thing in volume mixer for normal speakers. Still also got the drivers originally defaulting to SPDIF upon restart. Just notice it says ouput via HP dock, maybe this is linked to the docking station on the m1710? Whem I put my mosue over the icon, it also says my speakers are at 100, this never changes! Thanks for the help! mobilenvidia
I get the SPIDF via HP Dock as well. Really weird with your speakers not showing. Try removing all the \filters sections. Just PINs and GPIO Try also removing the PINs Try everything, I did to get to what you see now :)

aliveanddead86
removed all the \filters, and I had no sound haha, but kinda expected that, still no icon or anything, kept pin9 out for now, but turned off rest as well, then got no ouput device, gpio doesnt seem to make a difference either... I might have to cope without an icon! And cope with windows sounds!

I might have to cope without an icon! And cope with windows sounds! If you have sound, I think after all the fiddling be happy. Who needs Icons. Do both IDT COntrol Panels work ? GPIO are needed for me to make the Subwoofer work, as other wise the Subwoofer becomes VERY loud and other speakers are drowned out. The GPIO's are general Purpose Pins that are OEM programmable (I think) and Dell uses it for Subwoofer out (I also think) As the STAC9200 is only a 2 channel device it can't do more than the standard 2 channel audio, and the GPIO must redirect the sound to sub via a possible a filter. Must one day do some fiddling with these.
