Both the control panels do work, enabling all the filters has renamed the sub from "subwoofer" to "mono", but does the same job, so not at all worried there, and yep all sound is workin fine, just the lack of icon really! Just don't understand why that doesn't work!

Always wondered how the sub worked as the device is 2 channel, makes sense now.

Thanks for your help, glad the code 10s and 30s are sorted!

Can you attach how you added the SRS sections.

Did you check to see if the naming of the headers matched the \filters\ ie Speaker or SpeakerHP etc.

You may need to rename all the SRS headers to match the filter (fi you see what I mean)

opened the wrt.ini from the modded 6187 and put it in the end of the 92xxD2.ini of the original intel drivers

An update on mui bug

When i choose english language and restart laptop i can enable/disable and change settings of SRS and equalization (and maybe other settings have same prob i don't know). When i change to game settings for example and then i change to portuguese language i can't change to video or music.

Conclusion: when IDT control panel is using non english language it can't change the SRS and equalizations values or reverts. It's not that reverts back to music as default. It reverts to the last setting changed with english language. So i'd like to know if it's because somehow control panel reverts the registry values or if it's because it cannot write registry using another language and i hope we can fix that annoying bug.

Copy and paste the 6162 INF and both INI's (you must copy both)

You could edit the 6162 INF to reflect the new version.

Now you copy and past all files from 6162 to 6187 BUT only replace the files that arn't there.

Don't overwrite any files (except INF and the 2 INI's mentioned earlier)

This driver should now also work for you.

I tried to install the driver on an m1330, following the instructions in the first post. They seemed to install, but said 'this device cannot start'.

I would like to help get these drivers running on the m1330. It's configuration is not the same as the m1530 (for example, the lack of optical/coaxial, SPDIF only being provided through HDMI). So if anyone can help me get started, I'll be happy to put some time into this.

Note that I use Windows 7 64-bit.

Hello guys, thanks for all your work, i just followed the instruction in our wrt.ini file, and copied the section needed from my original dell's driver wrt. But after reboot i don't have sound cause it tell me that i don't have any device installed. :) I have a dell xps 1530. I saw that in ini file isn't written to change the HKR... GPIO and is blank in your file, while in mine there is something under it.

Any suggestions?

First, I want to thank you so much for putting your time in on a job that Dell (or Sigma tel/IDT) should have taken care of. You are awesome. :)

Secondly, I am trying to use skype with my dell (I forget exact model). I have XP Pro. Of course having the Sigma tel audio, I have no microphone. Do any of your drivers work with XP? They are all listed as Vista/Windows 7. If you aren't working on XP, then I am back to searching the internet :)

Hey guys. I have a XPS M1710 and am using Win 7 32-bit. I have been using old Sigmatel driver version 6.10.0.5614 and they are working all right. But as I like to keep my drivers updated, I have never been able to find a driver after that, until on these forums. I read a bit about them and from the pics they look to have changed with new configuration options etc. The thing is I am using SRS Audio Sandbox and the effects they give are so good compared to just basic audio, I don't want to change to the newer config options included in these newer drivers. Is there a way just to update the audio driver not install other things. Will using the advanced INF installation method do just that? Thanks.

You can still use Audio Sandbox with the latest drivers (modded) and have all the New Control panel features as well.

I'm using SRS SB as we speak with 6187.

Getting the driver to work and behave is another matter, have a look at other folks experiences with the same setup

Yup the driver seems to have SRS in it as well but all I had to do was disable all the settings in the IDT control panel and use SRS audio sandbox as before. I tried both of them and sandbox is still way better. And everything seems to be working fine in playback.

Make sure the SRS Audio device is the 'Default' one not the IDT Codec.

Yes like mobilenvidia said, you have to make sure that Speakers(SRS Audio Sandbox) is set as default in your playback devices options.

And also make sure in Sandbox - Options - Preferences, Speakers is selected and not SpdifOut. For me SpdifOut was default but had to change it.

Already did that. SRS Audio Sandbox is set as the default playback device, and "Speakers" is selected as well. I followed the setup as per the instructions in the SRS SB help file--didn't work.

Also you might want to check volume settings in the IDT control panel and disable SRS premium in there. And the properties in Speakers and Headphones(from the first pic). It has a lot of settings you might want to look at.

Don't know why its not working if everything is setup correctly, as you can see sliders moving but get no sound.
