Cabarnacus
Thank you. Working on my XPS M1530 after replacing pins & filters. Could you be so kind as to give me a heads up on the correct "pins and filters" to use on m1530? Im new to modding audio drivers and my attempts to replace pins aint going so well as i cant find the correct ones for the m1530. There seems to be about 20 WRTXXXX files in the original dell driver and i could never find the right one. I used the WRT_1.031_XPS_M1530.rar you posted in the modded driver thread to successfully install the 6233 build however i find there is a significant pop/crackle whenever sound starts and stops, so I would like to try the latest one. A quick beginers guide would be very much appreciated. I understand the concept of the pins being a way of mapping the inputs/outputs to the driver but what are the "filters"? I also apologise to everyone if this is off topic, but i noticed XinHong has been working with the M1530 and i thought i would try learn from the Master. :) P.S. in case it is required: HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_8384&DEV_7616&SUBSYS_1028022E&REV_1002

WildwestGoh
Hi, I'm new here, been searching for a good IDT drivers for a while and got to this forum. Was wondering if any of the version here is suitable for my Dell Studio 1555, IDT 92HD73C1 Audio. I installed the driver downloaded from Dell official support site but it has some unusual problem. (version 6217) When I changing the volume or whenever I tune the equalizer, the sound would appear distorted, sort of lag for a second there. Would like to know if any drivers posted here can help solve the problem that I have. Thank you very much. FYI, I tried the version 6233, it's also for the IDT 92HD73C1 Audio, but it was intended for Alienware model (looked into the Version.txt), it took half-an-hour upon starting setup just to let me know it's not for my audio device that I'm using. Could this mean I need to edit something to make it work? Or should I stick to the Dell's official driver until a newer one come out? Dell Studio 1555 Windows 7 x86(32-bit) Home Premium (upgrade from Vista 32-bit) CPU: T6550 RAM: 2GB + 1GB Audio: IDT 92HD73C1 Audio + X-Fi MB software Windows 7 installation methord: Clean install, manual driver update/install. Update: Driver update successfully. I manage to manually install the driver through Update driver and point to the WDM folder, although the driver displayed as unsigned, I forced it through. The version came out unexpected Driver Provider: Microsoft (uh.. failed?) Driver Date: 13/7/2009 (DD/MM/YYYY) Driver Version: 6.1.7600.16385 Digital Signer: Microsoft Windows Ok, I know this is weird despite it's from IDT, can anyone please verify this? Otherwise, don't use it. Hi, I was excited to use the 6.10.0.6267 drivers till I saw this post. Good thing I didn't install them. I was wondering which drivers work well with an Inspiron 1520 upgraded from OEM Vista Home Premium now running Windows 7 Professional (downloaded through school website through Microsoft Academic program). Windows 7 found drivers that are suitable for me (meaning I get sound) after the windows 7 install through windows update. However, Windows 7 splits up Speaker and Headphone volume as two separate entities, which I find annoying because I have to adjust them every time I plug in my headphones. Also, windows media player comes up with an error that I believe is related to the soundcard drivers being out of date/the sound card not being officially supported by windows 7, and so I was hoping an update would fix that error too. Also, when using the media buttons on the front, when I mute a sound and then change the volume, the sound instantly becomes unmuted. In Vista, it would change the volume but keep the sound muted. I am currently using: High Definition Audio Device Driver Provider: Microsoft Driver Version: 6.1.7600.16385 Digital Signer: Microsoft Windows Hardware ID: HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_8384&DEV_76A0&SUBSYS_102801F1 AND HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_8384&DEV_76A0&SUBSYS_102801F1&REV_1002 Do you know what updated audio drivers I can use? You may have to run R190517 or R218148 in "Vista compatibility mode" for the drivers to install correctly in Windows 7. Or after running either R190517 or R218148 to extract the files, do NOT let the setup program install the drivers right away; just cancel setup after file extraction. You need to make the SETUP.EXE file from either the \Dell\drivers\R190517\ folder or \Dell\drivers\R218148\ folder run in "Vista compatibility mode", and then run the SETUP.EXE file to install the Sigmatel HD Audio drivers. Hello erp-ster7n, Sorry it took so long for the reply. I finally got around to installing R218148, and it fixed my laptop speaker/external speaker issue! Thank you! However, it has now messed up my 3.5mm headphone jack. Before, I used audacity to record audio using a 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable from my headphone to microphone jack. Now, for some reason audacity only records from my internal laptop microphone, and I think it has something to do with this driver. I tried editing settings for audacity to no avail. Also, when I plug in a cable to my 3.5mm microphone jack, then take it out while playing a youtube video, youtube stutters for a couple milliseconds, then the video fails to produce sound. However, if I open Windows Media Player, it plays songs fine. Any more help anyone could give me would be greatly appreciated. If not, I can live with it... :-).
