Pacific is a bigger venture with a new Japanese campaign to partner with the American campaign and there are other touches to bring it firmly into 2009.As before the battles are not based on real life incidents but are instead a colourful interpretation of historical events. The whole design is geared towards ensuring that players can just jump in and enjoy the game. Impressively there is a good mixture of game play throughout the various campaigns and you take control of planes, bombers, submarines and even a plethora of battleships and carriers. While the actual events aren’t true to life, the various weapons of destruction are accurate, well detailed and the unit design is very impressive. Unfortunately there are some glaring issues which tend to lower the overall experience for me. Note for operation on Laptops and Notebook computers: Due to the variety of hardware configurations that ship with today's laptop systems, it would be impossible to configure a game that would work with all of them. Many laptop/notebook computers are limited in their ability to be used as a gaming machine. This is because of memory configurations, their micro-channel architecture, port configurations and sound systems that are primarily designed to be used with productivity software. The other common problem is that laptop systems will attempt to compress the traditional version of the standard 101-function keyboard (found on almost all desktop systems) into a much smaller keyboard configuration. This is usually done by relying on multifunction keys that allow the user to assign different functions to the same key. Unfortunately, this has been known to cause problems with our games.
