I did the benchmark in my Asus k53e, intel i3 2330m , 8GB ram (dual channel 1333mhz), HD 3000 (minimum 512mb max 1760mb) and 500 GB HD.

Offtopic:

I installed the 2761 drivers on windows 8 changing some config in cmd, but still bad performance in 2d graphics, i think windows 8 has some bugs with aero.

What is odd on these Trine 2 numbers? On my HD4000 I tested some more games a while ago, there was basically no difference between 2761 vs 2778. 2696 had some Performance Bugs in some games.

Seems too large a difference (15fps?) between 2761 and 2778. Just to see if I got this right, you said CB11.5 and Trine 2 both got 12.17fps or CB11.5 got 12.17fps and Trine 2 got the same fps on both drivers?

No you got it wrong.CB 11.5 0,03 fps difference and Trine 2 0 fps difference. Trine 2 had the same performance as 2778.

Again, try to phrase things better in the future, as your original sentence was a mess.

I asked exactly where my doubt was, but you decided to act pretentious, and that's certainly your prerogative. And no, debating semantics doesn't make your point any more valid. Next time learn to phrase things to avoid such confusions in the first place.

Numbers weren't provided as I wasn't present at the time drivers were tested on the aforementioned machines.

Andi_84, is the 2843 release truly compatible with Windows 7 as it indicated on the notes, or is like previous drivers that mainly targeted Windows 8 along with a modicum of compatibility with Windows 7?

i tried 2843 drivers on windows 7 and still the same thing, bad performance in general games, low fps, and bad quality 3d graphics. I back to 2778.

So 2843 gave similar performance to 2827? Not so good.

Could you check for the number of OpenGL extensions supported, please?

Don't worry, next time I just ignore your request of some testing. It's not worth it obviously.

Far Cry 2 and Half-Life 2 performance bugs still not fixed. I'm not sure what they are doing recently. The last official Windows 7 release is over 3 months old. Probably all the 15.28 driver releases are not ready for an official Windows 7 release.

2827 was a little better, i uninstalled the driver now cant see opengl number.

I've been following this topic for a long time and I'm curious to know how drivers affect battery life. Can someone test it? It would be great. I already tested my notebook with 2778 and 2761 with custom power options from Lenovo Energy Management, some Windows features disabled, light use (SciLab, Word and web surfing), 20% brightness, bluetooth off, mute and a 6-cell battery.

2778: around 6h with wireless off and around 5h with it on

2761: around 5h30min with wireless off and around 4h40min with it on

I was really impressed with these results, Lenovo Energy Management seems actually very good

BTW, this topic is really useful

a quick follow-up on this old post I made back in late July: I looked at the kit45888.inf file inside HP's sp57956.exe file and it supports the following device IDs:

[intel.Mfg]

%iCNTG0% = iCNT0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2A42
%iCNTG1% = iCNT1, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2A43
%iEGLG0% = iEGL0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2E02
%iEGLG1% = iEGL1, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2E03
%iEGLQ4G0% = iEGL0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2E12
%iEGLQ4G1% = iEGL1, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2E13
%iEGLG4G0% = iEGL0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2E22
%iEGLG4G1% = iEGL1, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2E23
%iEGLGVG0% = iEGL0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2E32
%iEGLGVG1% = iEGL1, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2E33
%iEGLGB0% = iEGL0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2E42
%iEGLGB1% = iEGL1, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2E43
%iEGLGBU0% = iEGL0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2E92
%iEGLGBU1% = iEGL1, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2E93
%iILKGM0% = iILKM0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0046
%iILKG0% = iILKD0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0042

notice the last two lines end in dev_0042 and dev_0046 - that means the Intel HD Graphics 6.14.10.5417 WinXP driver from HP supports 1st generation HD graphics devices (and seems barely generic). seems to be the latest one for those two specific device IDs (0042 & 0046) on XP.

tested 2849, nothing new, bad performance and very bad quality graphics

hmm, what kind of Intel HD graphics hardware you use, paramoreds? I get the opposite effect on my Dell Inspiron 620 desktop PC with Intel HD graphics 2000 hardware using the 9.17.10.2849 driver than what you got. Gaming graphics subscore increased from 5.6 to 5.8 when updating the WEI (windows experience index) on Win7 x64 and seems to have slightly boosted overall graphics performance on my computer.

@zehh25: we would like to help you out if you can tell us what kind of Intel HD graphics hardware your Lenovo laptop is using and what model of Lenovo notebook computer you have? better yet, post up the hardware device ID of your Intel HD Graphics device as you can get this kind of inforation from Device Manager.

hmm, what kind of Intel HD graphics hardware you use, paramoreds? I get the opposite effect on my Dell Inspiron 620 desktop PC with Intel HD graphics 2000 hardware using the 9.17.10.2849 driver than what you got. Gaming graphics subscore increased from 5.6 to 5.8 when updating the WEI (windows experience index) on Win7 x64 and seems to have slightly boosted overall graphics performance on my computer.

I have HD 3000, my current WEI for 2761,2778 drivers is 6.3 for gaming & aero, after install 2849 drivers go down to 5.9 and 6.2
