OK, this driver breaks Chrome, stops it from loading/working

 

I have i5-3470T 3945 installs fine

But I run my display of my 8400GS (in reality a GF205)

 

Took me ages to sort this, should have started here as this is what Installed last night

I tried using the latest x64 driver but it says not supported on my system !? I have windows 8.1 x64 and Intel Graphics HD 4000 series (3rd gen Intel "Haswell" i7 processor).

HD4000 belongs to Ivy Bridge. Haswell is 4th generation.

Just a version change for same driver ?

Can't compare, station-drivers link keeps stopping part way through, real random.

Odd.

 

Still baffled why 3945 stops Chrome from working when I'm running of the GF8400, another oddity

Wish these latest drivers (posted above) would work on 3rd Generation-Ivy Bridge-HD4000 systems....lol

The write-up from Intel, kind of let one believe, that they will indeed be supported...

 

"For users currently using 15.33 drivers, this driver includes all the benefits in the recently released 15.36.3.3907 drivers. 
Additionally for users on either 15.33 drivers or 15.36.3.3907, this driver also includes additional new features, many 
fixes, and some further performance improvements."

 

Oh well....lol  A new laptop is needed...:)  I'm currently utilizing the 10.18.10.3958 (15.33.3 x64) drivers...all is well...lol
