Is that 15.22.55.64.2677 a WHQL driver? According to Intel after two years the regular WHQL driver support ended. Same for Sandy Bridge soon.

I tried the driver 2817, in windows 7 & 8, in windows 7 my experience index for desktop go down for 6.3 to 5.9, the drivers are bad, i back to 2761.

On windows 8 the experience index was the same than 2770. But test it on cs source benchmark and fps go down for 165 to 110 fps. So i back to 2770.

One question how can install the driver 2761 on windows 8? wich files i have edit? how??

I tried editing a igdlh64.inf file

Changing this:

[Manufacturer]

%Intel% = IntelGfx, NTamd64.5.1, NTamd64.6.0, NTamd64.6.1, NTamd64.6.2

[intelGfx.NTamd64.5.1]

; no install on XP

[intelGfx.NTamd64.6.0]

; no install on Vista

[intelGfx.NTamd64.6.1]

; no install on Win7

[intelGfx.NTamd64.6.2]

%iSNBGM1% = iSNBM0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0106

%iSNBGD1% = iSNBD0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0102

%iSNBGM2% = iSNBM0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0116

%iSNBGD2% = iSNBD0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0112

%iSNBGM2P% = iSNBM0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0126

%iSNBGD2P% = iSNBD0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0122

%iSNBGD3% = iSNBD0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_010A

%iIVBGD0% = iIVBD0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0162

%iIVBGM0% = iIVBM0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0166

%iIVBGD0SRV% = iIVBD0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_016A

%iIVBGD0GT1% = iIVBD0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0152

%iIVBGM0GT1% = iIVBM0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0156

%iIVBGD0SRVGT1% = iIVBD0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_015A

but doesnt work, please help :(

The 15.28 drivers are terrible for Half-Life 2 too, CS source uses the same Engine. The cause for this issue is a low clock frequency. I have reported this but it can take some time to resolve it seems.

Try this:

[Manufacturer]

%Intel% = Intel.Mfg, NTamd64

[intel.Mfg.NTamd64]

%iSNBGM1% = iSNBM0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0106

%iSNBGD1% = iSNBD0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0102

%iSNBGM2% = iSNBM0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0116

%iSNBGD2% = iSNBD0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0112

%iSNBGM2P% = iSNBM0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0126

%iSNBGD2P% = iSNBD0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0122

%iSNBGD3% = iSNBD0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_010A

%iIVBGD0% = iIVBD0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0162

%iIVBGM0% = iIVBM0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0166

%iIVBGD0SRV% = iIVBD0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_016A

%iIVBGD0GT1% = iIVBD0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0152

%iIVBGM0GT1% = iIVBM0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0156

%iIVBGD0SRVGT1% = iIVBD0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_015A

15.26 isn't made for Windows 8 though...

Is that 15.22.55.64.2677 a WHQL driver?

...

I installed it yesterday on a system equipped with a 1st generation Core i7 CPU (i7-640M). Installation went fine, and there were no warnings about missing WHQL certification.

The driver works fine, and performance seems to be the same as with 8.15.10.2622.

thanks a lot, mik. I had a hard time finding this newer driver on the Intel web site as Intel's search engine couldn't locate it.

@Andi: the 8.15.10.2677 drivers are WHQL certified because they contain the needed igdlh.cat file which is signed by Microsoft.

I've installed this one on my bro's Sony VAIO laptop using 1st gen. intel i3 core processor and it worked great. I'll install it on my aunt's Dell Inspiron 580 desktop machine later on, which also uses 1st gen. intel core i3 cpu and first gen. intel hd graphics hardware.

and speaking of 1st Generation Intel HD Graphics hardware, there are no Win8-specific drivers for those (and Windows 8 has gone RTM or final at the beginning of August).

Toshiba recently has copies of the 9.17.10.2817 drivers for Win8: (TC40186900D.exe) [64bit] & (TC40182700D.exe) [32bit]

btw, I got a chance to install v8.15.10.2677 driver on my bro's Sony VAIO laptop and on my aunt's Dell Inspiron 580 desktop PC.

though the "graphics subscore" on the Sony VAIO notebook computer took a minor drop from 4.7 to 4.6 after installing the 2677 driver but no change in the "graphics subscore" on the Dell Inspiron 580 machine which was still 4.9.

You have to edit the inf (in this case igdlh64.inf) as usual. Replace the OEM customized strings with the generic GPU IDs below.

[Manufacturer]

%Intel% = Intel.Mfg, NTamd64

[intel.Mfg.NTamd64]

%iSNBGM1% = iSNBM0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0106

%iSNBGD1% = iSNBD0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0102

%iSNBGM2% = iSNBM0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0116

%iSNBGD2% = iSNBD0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0112

%iSNBGM2P% = iSNBM0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0126

%iSNBGD2P% = iSNBD0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0122

%iSNBGD3% = iSNBD0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_010A

%iIVBGD0% = iIVBD0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0162

%iIVBGM0% = iIVBM0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0166

thanks, installed the 2828 driver, and is the same... low fps in general games, cs1.6 lag, cs source low fps, COD MW3 max fps was 31 fps (in windows 7 max i get 80 fps) same settings.

Experience index go down again drop for 5.8 to 5.7 and gamming 6.2 drop to 6.1.

For now i hate windows 8 :impatient:

You are on Win 8? On Win 7 I can say this driver has some serious performance issues there as well. That's why I prefer 15.26 (8.15) drivers. The only good thing I can see for the 15.28 release at the moment: OpenGL 4.0 support and overall better performance in OpenGL games.

Now i tested on windows 7, again experience index drop from 6.3 to 5.9 in desktop aero, and gaming drop from 6.3 to 6.2.

The curious in this driver is the performance mode, is very extreme, very low quality graphics.

im back to 2761, when intel do a betters drivers? -_-

Intel HD Graphics 8.15.10.2778 OEM drivers from Lenovo for Win7 (released 8/2/2012) > (32bit) & (64bit)

I also found 2778 drivers from ASRock and MSI but their downloads are large. It'll take a while for me to download them as my DSL internet connection is a little flaky and slow recently.
