Thanks but 8.15.10.2778 was already posted almost two months ago. Still the newest 8.15 driver though.

yes and no, mik. only the Dell OEM version of the 8.15.10.2778 driver was mentioned back then near the end of June and only available for 64bit Win7.

In early August, Lenovo released their own version of the 2778 OEM driver for both 32bit and 64bit editions of Win7 while ASRock and MSI released generic versions of the 8.15.10.2778 driver for Win7 32bit & 64bit OSes, currently which are still not available from the Intel web site. latest Win7 driver from Intel web site is 2761.

my dsl connection has improved lately so I have few more 2778 drivers to mention from Lenovo.

(h0d909ww.exe) for Win7 SP1 64bit editions

(h0d809ww.exe) for Win7 SP1 32bit editions

I was able to obtain the generic 2778 driver from ASRock, installed it with no INF mod needed on my Dell Inspiron 620 machine and worked great.

I know but it makes no difference for me between a inf mod and generic version, both works well. I hope we get something really new soon because this driver is 2,5 months old and all 15.28 drivers are worse for many games. There are so many performance issues in the last leaked 15.28 drivers, I guess they need 2-3 months at least to sort it out.

Does anyone have stability and performance reports on this 2817 release?

I'm currently running 2761 on my HD 3000 and haven't updated due to reports of both lack of performance on Source based games, a few other games not being able to run at all, and some lack of stability.

As for HL2 I can give you a score. The loss should be similar on a HD3000.

Horrid results. Seems like 2761 will remain installed for a while.

One thing, though, it seems image quality is slightly improved on 2817, but the screenshot might have misled me.

You could update to 2778, this is the newest 15.26 driver.

I might be thinking of a different driver, but I think 2778 was one of those drivers with very poor performance on Source based games as well.

I'm not aware of performance issues with this driver, never heard something.

thanks man, but still doesnt work.

I have heard inf mod doesn't work anymore under Windows 8. In order to make the inf modded driver installable, we have to start the system in test mode. It's a bad news.

We can then install it form test mode? or not? the 2761 drivers.

On Windows 7 I press F8 while booting and chose Enable Test Mode. I don't know if the 2761 works in test mode under Windows 8.

Hello, I have 15.26.13.64.2778 installed. When I dled that driver you just posted the installer warned me that I'm trying to install an older version. The driver i have installed is from ASRock the generic 8.15.10.2778 . So which one is really new?

It depends - 8.15.10.2827 is of 31st July 2012, but only supports 1st Gen (Arrandale) and 2nd Gen (SandyBridge) Core Processor's integrated graphics (but does not support IvyBridge).

8.15.10.2778 is of 6th June 2012 and supports 2nd Gen and 3rd Gen Core Processor's integrated graphics (but does not support Arrandale's integrated graphics).

For Sandy and Ivy Bridge I would recommend to stay with 8.15.10.2778.

Best regards,

Andi

HD3000 users have a choice between 3 different series of drivers:

15.22

15.26

15.28

I can't try 2827 since I have the HD4000.

I tried 2827, is not bad, but 2778 has 5% better performance in general games.

The panel control intel in the 2827 change the settings menu style for 3d.

oh joy! I can install the 2827 driver on my bro's Sony VAIO laptop and on my aunt's Dell Inspiron 580 desktop machine since they both use 1st gen Intel HD graphics chips. :yahoo:

btw, almost 2 weeks ago, I downloaded the large v8.15.10.2778 driver package from the MSI download site which was 263Mb in size and they also include the ReleaseNotes_GFX.htm files for the 32bit and 64bit editions of the 2778 driver, something the other 2778 driver packages do NOT have. so Andi, have you checked out those ReleaseNotes_GFX.htm files for the 2778 driver yet?

I always check them. I will try the new 2827 on a mobile Sandy Bridge system along with the other two series of drivers today. Will see how it performs in CB 11.5 and Trine 2.

I've downloaded the huge v8.15.10.2778 driver package from MSI and looked at the ReleaseNotes_GFX.htm.

Nothing surprising in there:

mik, could you also test the 2761 release? I've heard reports of 2778 performing slower than 2761, with 2827 being the worst of the bunch, therefore I'm rather curious.

CB11.5 reached 12,17fps and Trine 2 exactly the same with 2761. This is just one game, no idea how it looks in other games. From where do you heard this? If I remember 15.22 performed slightly better in HL2 and gave me the fastest 2D scores, it depends on the application sometimes. Overall the 15.22 should be the slowest though.

Odd numbers on Trine 2, although it's technically better than running synthetic benchmarks. I've heard a few reports from some friends of mine with different HD 2000 and HD 3000 IGPs, and unlike what paramoreds linked above without specs to better measure things, I've noticed drastic improvements on 2761 over 2696. The main reason for my concern over 2778 is that it seems to perform worse on decoding tasks.

What is odd on these Trine 2 numbers? On my HD4000 I tested some more games a while ago, there was basically no difference between 2761 vs 2778. 2696 had some Performance Bugs in some games.
