Assuming you are running Windows 10 version 1709 (RS3) or 1803 (RS4) [Nahimic 3 UWP and Sonic Studio 3 UWP apps do not work on older releases of Win10 like RS2/v1703 & earlier; must upgrade to either RS3 or RS4 if using old versions of Win10)

1 - uninstall 8504 FF03 legacy HDA driver AND Sonic Studio 3 & Sonic Radar 3 desktop apps (yes, you have to remove these as well), restart computer

2 - install either ASUS 8504 UAD driver from here OR generic 8507 UAD driver from here, reboot computer afterwards

3 - install ASUS OEM A-volute Nahimic 3 component driver (for Nahimic 3 UWP or Sonic Studio 3 UWP app to work) from ASUS.  also again restart computer after installing Nahimic 3 component driver

4 - download & install Sonic Radar 3 UWP app from MS store AND Sonic Studio 3 UWP app from MS store (and make sure your internet connection is working correctly; and enjoy the audio experience with the apps

---

A repacked 8507 generic UAD driver is available for easier installation

the Gigabyte 8509 UAD version seems to be a Gigabyte (Nahimic) driver - has only HDX_GigabyteExt_AVO_RTK.inf extension file

please help me!

recently i bought a asus strix z370-g motherboard which costs more than 180€
it has a supremefx s1220 realtek chip onboard.
i tried to install the asus sonic III application because i need an equalizer for my soundsettings
i want to boost my bass when i use the headset etc.
it was hard for me to find out that asus disabled all soundsettings in the sonic III
when using the spif connector.
after that really bad experience i tried the realtek driver form the microsoft catalog
because i wanted back the realtek hd audio manager - this application i used also on my old asus motherboard
it has a buildin equalizer - this is all i need.
after installation the realtek icon was in the taskbar - but when i click on it, it seems that a branded
version of hd audio mangager opens - without equalizer i can only change some connection settings.

if nothing fix this problem i have to buy a pci-e soundcard because i need this equalizer.
i have also tried some equalizer application from the internet - all are bad! f.e. apo equalizer

i want to have the full version of the realtek hd audio manager with the equalizer - is that possible???
registry hack? or delete some branded settings file?

@arracis: download & install this customized 8382 driver package from ASUS.  be sure to uninstall the sonic studio 3 and existing realtek drivers, reboot and install the customized ASUS based Realtek drivers for your ROG Strix Z370-G gaming board.

there is also a customized 8480 UAD driver listed for that board but that has a different structure and is for Windows 10 v1803 only.  installing this one also requires uninstalling the previous Realtek audio drivers and Sonic software before installing this new one.  do not use any Realtek driver from MS Update catalog as they may not be compatible with your ASUS board.

unrelated note: Microsoft has posted v6.0.1.8504 on MS Update Catalog (for those who are using other Realtek audio devices but not on the ASUS Z370-G board - do not use this one, arracis - 8504 is not for you)

thank you very much for helping me!

i have tried the installation of both drivers - but sonic tells me "Sonic Studio does not support the current default audio device ." if i connect a headphone via 3.5 sonic is working.

i think asus disabled sonic via SPIF

so i tried with the realtek drivers without success - the GUI seems to be branded. there is no equalizer etc.

i have copied this picture from the internet - but it looks similar to mine.

but it should like look like this. can someone help me to bring me the full realtek hd audi manager back?

Ask in ASUS ROG forums, arracis.  sonic studio never supported spdif audio outputs; only analog speakers & headphone outputs - that's by design:

be more specific, Rhadamanthis.  there are several versions of MSI GT60 laptops listed on MSI web site.   choose FF00 generic version if not sure of specific audio config

@ erp-ster7n

i got it working now -i installed this version: 8509_FF00_PG468_Win10_RS1_RS2_RS3_RS4_Win7_WHQL

i have dowloaded this version from this forum.

sound quality seems to be not so good as the asus version 8480 so i tried to install the driver version 8480_FF00_PG467_Win10_RS1_RS2_RS3_RS4_Win7_WHQL

(also from this forum) and the equalizer is gone again...

i also tried the other version 8509_FF03 with Nahimic  no realtek soundspeaker icon in taskbar, i tried the 8509_FF06 with MaxxAudio this brings back the hd audio manager

but without maxxxaudio.

where do this versions come from? are they directly from realtek or is this user customization?

the last version from realtek website is form 2017.

both versions are generic version  - why does version 8509 include the sound enhancements and 8480 not?

8480_FF00_PG467_Win10_RS1_RS2_RS3_RS4_Win7_WHQL

8509_FF00_PG468_Win10_RS1_RS2_RS3_RS4_Win7_WHQL

i know a loooot of stupid questions form my side - but you would make me very lucky if you/someone can answer me that.

thanks!

you can not improve sound with these Realtek audio control & HP audio control stuff, DmiTrah - those require Realtek UAD drivers, not legacy Realtek HDA FFxx drivers.  you will need at least the "generic" Realtek 8507 UAD driver to use at least Realtek audio control UWP app from MS store.  also RealtekAPO.inf, RealtekHSA.inf & RealtekService.inf files are included in UAD drivers only

and HP audio control is used on recent Hewlett-Packard computers only - not compatible with your Xiaomi computer

Try Dolby UWP Apps. If you want to talk about this, go to techpowerup froum thread instead.
