i got it working now -i installed this version: 8509_FF00_PG468_Win10_RS1_RS2_RS3_RS4_Win7_WHQL

where do this versions come from? are they directly from realtek or is this user customization?

the last version from realtek website is form 2017.

both versions are generic version  - why does version 8509 include the sound enhancements and 8480 not?

8480_FF00_PG467_Win10_RS1_RS2_RS3_RS4_Win7_WHQL

8509_FF00_PG468_Win10_RS1_RS2_RS3_RS4_Win7_WHQL

i know a loooot of stupid questions form my side - but you would make me very lucky if you/someone can answer me that.

thanks!

these versions are from Realtek themselves, even though they are not found on the Realtek web site.  Realtek site has R2.82 (v6.0.1.8186) from July 2017 but that one is for computers made in early 2017 & older.  newer drivers sometimes come from PC manufacturers.

and I get this Realtek HD Audio Manager control panel on a friend's ASUS M5A78L-M LE/USB3 motherboard using any FF0x driver and installed thru HDXRT4.inf file:

asus-realtek-audio-cpl(m5a78l-m-le-usb3)[2].png

that ASUS board is using Realtek ALC887 audio chip with HWID "HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0887&SUBSYS_10438576" - only speaker output and no realtek digital output available (and no microphone connected)

version 6.0.1.8496 UAD from ASRock and MSI [the MSI version has Nahimic 3 support]

thanks stasio.  can you also obtain 8514 FF01 FMAPO?  I think that one will benefit those using certain Lenovo PCs w/ Realtek audio

meanwhile v6.0.1.8492 (old) [HDA] w/ Maxxaudio 8 integration from Dell (for Dell Precision 7520/7720 mobile workstation / laptop PCs only - not compatible with Dell XPS 9xxx laptops) [posted 8/13/2018]

v6.0.1.8509 UAD from MS Update Catalog [All OEMs] (14.7Mb)

Assuming you are running Windows 10 version 1709 (RS3) or 1803 (RS4) [Nahimic 3 UWP and Sonic Studio 3 UWP apps do not work on older releases of Win10 like RS2/v1703 & earlier; must upgrade to either RS3 or RS4 if using old versions of Win10)

1 - uninstall 8504 FF03 legacy HDA driver AND Sonic Studio 3 & Sonic Radar 3 desktop apps (yes, you have to remove these as well), restart computer

2 - install either ASUS 8504 UAD driver from here OR generic 8507 UAD driver from here, reboot computer afterwards

3 - install ASUS OEM A-volute Nahimic 3 component driver (for Nahimic 3 UWP or Sonic Studio 3 UWP app to work) from ASUS.  also again restart computer after installing Nahimic 3 component driver

4 - download & install Sonic Radar 3 UWP app from MS store AND Sonic Studio 3 UWP app from MS store (and make sure your internet connection is working correctly; and enjoy the audio experience with the apps

---

A repacked 8507 generic UAD driver is available for easier installation

Again thank you it works. I found your reply on the other forum to me and followed the instructions. I forgot to run the ASUS OEM A-volute Nahimic 3 component driver as Admin but quickly figured it out. Everything works fine, the Realtek UWP installed itself after I went to Get Updates in Windows Store. I am using 8504.

Note to stasio & alanfox2000 about the recent FF10 HDA drivers-

I've been downloading & trying out many different FF10 Realtek HDA driver packs for the past several days
and I have discovered that Realtek has included older versions of the mbapo232.dll & mbapo264.dll
files, beginning with the v6.0.1.8491 FF10 HDA driver, even though these Creative MBAPO2 DLL files
have newer Microsoft digital signature dates.  Version of these MBAPO2 DLL files included from 8491 to present like
8519 was v1.2.16.131.

The Creative SBConnect2 desktop software [ex. SBX360 & SBX720] will not recognize any Realtek audio
device if using v1.2.16.x (like 1.2.16.131) of the mbapo232.dll and mbapo264.dll files because they
are too "old" to work.  However, v1.2.16.131 of those mbapo232.dll and mbapo264.dll files will
allow older Creative softwares like SBCinema and X-FI MB3/MB5 to recognize any Realtek audio device.

For Creative SBConnect2 desktop app to detect onboard Realtek audio device, minimum version v1.2.65.x (like
v1.2.65.10 of the mbapo232.dll & mbapo264.dll files from R2.82 - 8186) is required.

In v6.0.1.8485 FF10, 8480 FF10 & earlier, the version of these Creative MBAPO2 DLL files included was
version 2.0.0.3.  These versions only work under Win10 and do not work properly under Win7/8.1 and
most of the Creative desktop apps (such as SBX720, SBCinema & X-FI MB3/MB5) will show popup error messages
referencing a non-existent API-MS-WIN-CORE-HEAP-L2-1-0.DLL file under Win7 & Win8.1 (and will fail to
recognize the onboard Realtek audio device) when using 2.0.0.3 of these Creative MBAPO2 DLL files.
Much older Creative apps like X-FI MB2 & THX Trustudio PC/Pro are not affected by this since they use
different Creative DLL files (MBAPO/MBTHX).

I might contact Realtek and ask if they will include any 1.2.65.x version of the mbapo232.dll & mbapo264.dll files in newer driver versions.

ASUS B-350F now lists Realtek_Audio_8480_UAD_NAHMIC_WHQL as the newest download available. Seems they are now supporting it's use on this motherboard. I've updated to the ASUS UAD Nahmic 8531 driver now, thanks everyone!

will uad driver work for my old dell xps8700?

If it's like my XPS 15, probably not. Dell newest laptops, like the XPS 9570, do use UAD drivers.

why dell doesnt not have uad driver?

most likely not as the Dell XPS 8700 desktop PC comes pre-installed with Win8.1, a few years before Win10 came out.  UAD drivers are pre-installed on Dell computers manufactured in year 2018

Realtek ALC3861 audio chip on XPS 8700 may not have a qualifying hardware ID number mentioned in the UAD drivers.  use this Dell support article to gather the hardware ID number of the Realtek Audio device in Device Manager

stick to using traditional Realtek HDA drivers on the XPS 8700 as Realtek will still make both HDA & UAD drivers, dealpapa

dealpapa's XPS 8700 computer is a desktop PC, not a laptop PC, LSudlow.

maxxaudio application software bundled with original Realtek HDA Audio drivers from Dell for XPS 8700.
