therealjoeblow
Hi, I've installed: 8541_FF06_PG468_Win10_RS1_RS2_RS3_RS4_Win7_WHQL ...on my Dell Latitude 3580. It installs fine, after the reboot the audio is working fine, and the MaxxAudioPro icon is in the system tray and launches the MaxxAudioPro control panel, HOWEVER, WavesMaxx does not function... all the of the buttons are inactive and under Playback it says "current default playback device is not supported". When I look under Sound, video and game controllers in device manager, I see "Realtek High Definition Audio". When I revert back to the stock Dell driver which is: Realtek-High-Definition-Audio-Driver_P71YY_WIN_6.0.1.8142_A07 ...then the MaxxAudioPro control panel functions properly. And under device manager I see "Realtek Audio" instead of "Realtek High Definition Audio" like under the v8541 driver. Does anyone know how to get MaxxAudioPro to function on my 3580 with the latest driver? HWID for the audio is: HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0256&SUBSYS_102807B8&REV_1000 thanks TRJB
erp-ster7n
hi TRJB (joe) I'm recently recovering from a mild fever & sore throat but doing much better lately. The recent FF06 drivers will NOT provide all audio functions for your Dell Latitude 3580 laptop with hardware ID "HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0256&SUBSYS_102807B8" because that specific HWID is listed only in the HDXADCMAX8.INF file AND the FFxx drivers do NOT contain that specific INF file as well as the "correct" maxxaudio integration files. only specialized/customized Realtek audio drivers coming from Dell like the 8142 A07 version have it. you can try this updated customized Realtek HDA driver from Dell - 6.0.1.8492 A17 (this was listed for Dell Precision 7520/7720 laptops but will work for your Latitude 3580 computer as I found the HDXADCMAX8.INF file mentioning hardware ID "HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0256&SUBSYS_102807B8"); uninstall the 8541 HDA driver first before installing this customized 8492 A17 Realtek HDA driver. As for the shortened name change from "Realtek High Definition Audio" to "Realtek Audio" in device manager, it is by design as DELL told Realtek to simply give a shorter name and does not affect the performance of the audio device. I know because I notice the name change on my relative's Dell Inspiron 580 desktop PC (using Creative THX Trustudio PC/Pro) when using recent Realtek HDA drivers. It's just a simple name change - nothing more, nothing less. Unrelated note - for those using recent Gigabyte boards or laptops I have obtained 8544 UAD Gigabyte Nahimic3 driver & 8544 UAD Gigabyte RTK driver

I am having trouble downloading the SVF from that mirrorace site. keep getting "database" errors (error number 1062) regardless of which browser I use (IE, Edge, Firefox, Chrome) Edit 10/12 11 PM - site was not working in the morning but tried again in early afternoon & the site worked without the database errors
DarkPrognosis
What am I doing wrong as I drag the FF00 folder onto the FF03 and all that it does is create a folder with nothing in it and that is it. I have a MSI motherboard and all I want is to have left and right adjustable volume and an equalizer but I can't get it. Nihimic2 will not work with anything past 8470 and 3 will not install via the MS store as it says I already have it but I don't and besides 2 has issues plus doesn't have a slider for channel volume adjustment. Nahimic 3 requires UAD Realtek audio drivers (completely different format than traditional FFxx drivers and requires recent versions of Win10 like RS4) - not compatible with any generic FFxx HDA drivers Nahimic 2.x require FF03 nonUAD Realtek audio drivers. stay with 8470 since MSI did not release any new nonUAD Realtek drivers w/ Nahimic 2 integration You drag 8551_FF00_PG468_Win10_RS1_RS2_RS3_RS4_Win7_WHQL folder onto the 8551_FF03_PG468_Win10_RS1_RS2_RS3_RS4_Win7_WHQL.cmd file (you will need to open two File Explorer windows to accomplish this) - otherwise I'll post the 8551 FF03 nonUAD driver pack if you are unable to create it unrelated note: Microsoft posted 8549 recently on MS Update Catalog (currently a UAD driver) though a little late for that now

Btw, Nahimic (both versions) have issues with Mozilla products as you pause a video or pause Pandora and they cease to work and their forums are littered with the issue and they are too stupid to fix it after a year+. They said it works in FF 55 but I downgraded to 55 then 54 then said no more as both did the same thing. If you can up a nonUAD driver pack for me I would much appreciate it. waitandhope123
The latest UAD I'm using for my ASUS B350-F is 8531_UAD_2018_0904_NAHIMIC am I correct that because Universal_Audio_Driver_8553_THI lacks a Nahimic folder it is not compatible with Nahimic? Or does the designation of OEM drivers only (HDA_UAD) mean the installer is compatible always? Just trying to figure out what to look for. I can only find 8480 UAD Nahimic from ASUS. the Universal_Audio_Driver_8553_THI driver pack lacks all 3rd party software components like Creative/Dolby/DTS/Nahimic/Waves Maxxaudio because not all systems qualify for them; on the other hand, that specific 8553 UAD driver pack contains HDXRT.INF and HDX_GenericExt_RTK.inf files that do allow installation on older Realtek audio devices that don't normally qualify for using UAD drivers. the 3rd party components like Creative, Nahimic, Waves, etc. are packaged only in customized UAD drivers obtained from OEMs/PC manufacturers.
