erp-ster7n Posted April 26, 2016 Report Share Posted April 26, 2016 Version 6.0.1.7801 from MS Update Catalog for 32bit & 64bit Windows Vista/7/8.x/10 (x86/32bit) (x64/64bit) I've updated all my PCs that have Realtek audio chips to v7801. Miraculously after cleaning certain parts of the M2N68-LA Narra2 motherboard (with some 70% rubbing alcohol) in the HP Pavilion A6110n computer and installing WinXP SP3 on a fresh hard drive and then directly upgrading it to Vista and then to Win7 [and also disabling unnecessary devices and onboard controllers in BIOS setup like the 1394 Firewire controller], the Realtek ALC888S audio in the Hewlett-Packard computer was revived (yup, it's working again after previously thought to be "dead"). Turns out that the High Definition Audio Controller for Realtek audio was sharing IRQ 23 with the Standard Enhanced PCI to USB Host Controller & nVidia GeForce 6150SE devices (yup, too many devices sharing an IRQ is bad). I had to re-work the resource configs for these devices so that the HD Audio controller device would be sharing IRQ 23 with less devices; I had to make the Standard Enhanced USB Controller device use another IRQ (like IRQ 22) so that it won't be sharing IRQ23 with the HD Audio controller for Realtek audio. There was also a v6.0.1.7815 driver from Realtek as well as from MS Update Catalog.
