Hi there folks! I'm looking for updated drivers for an Acer laptop, as usual Acer doesn't quite give a crap about old-ish models (not even 2 years old) so running newer versions of Windows kind of requires you to find compatible drivers yourself.

The audio card it ships with is an ALC255, wired through Intel's SST, this would be its hardware IDs:

INTELAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0255&SUBSYS_10251345

I think I have found the latest driver package that ships with compatible HDXSSTACERNB.inf and HDX_AcerExt_RTK.inf files, version 6.0.9084.1 for a different machine (an Aspire A115-31), however it seems the ALC256 that machine mounts isn't routed through ISST so those files aren't included.

Is there anywhere I could search for updated drivers somehow?

I have another Acer-provided ISST distribution, 10.25.00.4813, that I could use along with those, but I don't know where it came from, nor how recent it is. I'm using ISST drivers from the 10.25 line because my machine is a 10th gen Comet Lake (I think the second number relates to it, don't know if 10.26 or newer would work), and even though I find newer versions from other vendors there are files inside the ISST distributions that relate to how things are wired I think, that's why I'm hesitant to use them.

In case it helps, the IDs for my ISST controller is:

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_02C8&SUBSYS_13451025

If it were up to Acer, or drivers provided through Windows Update (I'm guessing Acer supplied?) I'd still be on 6.0.8865.1 and equivalente ISST from late 2019 (even on the dev. Win 11 builds), what a disgrace.

the Realtek audio and Intel SST drivers for an Acer Aspire A115-31 laptop are separate driver downloads and are not combined.  the ISST driver listed for A115-31 is v9.22.00.4078.

doing an MS Update Catalog search on just ID "PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_02C8"
produces a lot of results - latest 10.25.x driver listed is v10.25.0.5731 dated 5/14/2021 (sort the list by clicking on the "Last Updated" section) - btw, here's the direct link to the Intel SST "media" driver 10.25.0.5731 from MS Update

and yes you will need to stick with using 10.25.x ISST driver versions as the higher versions (10.26 or greater) do not include DEV_02C8
