Temperatures checked with GPU-Z. About the performance the 182.05 is the best for playing games on directx 9.0 and its the driver that runs cooler of all. My favourite one is the 185.85 and i get the average temperature of 88˚after playing for a few hours. Also i've done a little Oc just using nvidia system tools and with the driver 185.85 My max stable clocks are 570/800/1450 (core/mem/shader). I got 3DMark06 score of 9083 and 3DMarkVantage score of 4350. On gaming i got 3 FPS on GTA IV and that was the only game i benchmarked. There's no temperature difference. UPDATE Flashed my card to GTS clocks and voltage successfully (600/800/1500 at 1.11v). I got 3DMark06 score of 9225 and 3DMarkVantage score of 4443. My temperatures raised to 96˚ average 92˚ after playing for a few hours. This flash was running to hot for me so after a few bio's flashes and benchmarks i decided to flash my card with the clocks that i was using with ntune 570/800/1450 at stock voltage 1.05v. My temperatures were the same as without the flash, max 93˚, average 88˚ and everything running really smooth and no baterry life changes too. Games look much better and better performance with AA. Changing the clocks and voltage to GTS speeds was not worth for me.. just got more 142 of score in 3DMark06 and 93 in 3DMarkVantage and in gamming not even 1 FPS (comparing with the clocks 570/800/1450) so i rather stay with the stock voltages and my clocks as has no impact on my baterry life and temperatures. Guest Guest
Thanx that's very interesting. 9800M GS is one of the most affordable high range card. We can find it in some 15,4" MSI laptops for less than 1000 euros. I think it's currently the better price/performance ratio for a nomad gamer.
