iamtall
Hi, I've a MSI GX700 Notebook, I recently changed the GPU driver and since I did so the laptop has been getting really hot, sometimes shutting itself off, the fan is going fine and the heat coming from the GPU fan doesn't seem to be any hotter than norm, but the base of the laptop is getting hotter. Can changing the Nvidia GPU driver effect how hot the laptop gets? if it's over worked? Many thanks for the help and HI!
Nofearangel
yes it can. My gpu temp changes with every driver installed. which drivers are you using?? Get rivatuner from guru3d.com that will help check the gpu temp. My one gpu run 7degrees hotter than the other. Even after taking it apart and cleaning it. One driver I used got the gpu to over 90 degrees 186(ones released but Nvidia). I would recommend Dox drivers. Alot of people dont realise how much a part the Graphics drivers play. thats why most manufacturers (dell)ignore releasing new drivers and have the original 2007 drivers. Its like have a F1 car going round a track and not tweaking it, it will go fast but not as fast as it could. losing 20% of wasted potential.
