matneh
Hi folks, I've searched for the answer to this question everywhere. I'm looking at the HP 8530W laptop, which has a NVidia Quadro FX 770M video card and an HDMI port on the side. 1) Officially, HDMI can only do 1080 lines of vertical resolution, but with the "unofficial" drivers, can the HDMI port drive a 1600x1200 monitor via a HDMI to DVI cable? 2) While docked, is it possible to drive one 1600x1200 monitor through the DVI port on the docking station and another 1600x1200 through the HDMI port on the laptop? Thanks, Matt
Bill
1. Yes you shouldn't have any problem. 2. It should be possible unless the dock uses the same digital display connection. However you should check with the laptop manufacturer to be sure.

I can't even get the answer from our very knowledgable IT department that played around with the laptop for weeks.
