I'm unable to install this verson.

Have added my GPU and will be found during setup but said me system is not modified.

Another try with "Have disk method" is altough not working.

Then he said driver is not for my windows version and i am sure the inv is x64 too.

Any idea what i can do? Are you allready working at modding your inf? Got anybody else the same probs?

I had no problems installing the driver. I just added my GPU to the inf and installed it via device manager > update driver.

Oh I had trouble downloading the driver from lv2go earlier so I downloaded the desktop one directly from nVidia site and then modded the inf. I guess you could give it a shot.

I haven't encountered any problems yet. The driver seems similar to the 190.40 I used before. I'll have to check the overall performance and let you know.

how did you add your GPU but there is no modded INF in the OP?

i have a Gateway p-7811 with a GeForce 9800mGTS, how should i go about doing this?

EDIT: the modded INF is up

So much flickering with my 8600m GT :)

Since the 18x.xx series, the only driver that works without too much flickering is 186.39 :)

Just got em on Vista 64 SP2 and gained 2 fps in DoW II benchmark over 190.38 which is nice. I haven't done anything else other than poke through the control panel, but the driver seems to be working fine.

flickering as in the powermizer problem or in-games?

I keep getting that my system has not been modified after I try to install the drivers, even with the modified inf. For some reason that has been happening to me a lot with these new drivers for some reason.

As in powermizer problem, so when I work with my PC... :)

nvidia should seriously fix this problem..

however, at least this driver fixes alt-tabbing lag for most games (GTAIV, sims3, WoW).

I bet it's not Powermizer but Desktop Window Manager (DWM) and Aero effects that cause your problems.

nope, it's not DWM that is causing the problem.

it's the change in clock speed which causes the flicker.

seems like 8600M GT is greatly affected and I was wondering if Nvidia knows about it.

Yeah, thanks to DWM the GPU stays at 3D clocks (or it drops to 2D, but as soon as you click something, open a window etc. it bursts up to 3D clocks again). It pissed me so much that I had to disable the DWM manually cause it caused 1s lags in games every 20s or so.

I used Rivatuner to force the clock at 3D levels, so that it does not changes every time when my laptop is idling

and which means no flickering at all.

Yeah, but that puts stress on your components and equals fan always on and low battery life even when just idling/browsing the web etc.

Ask uncle Google?

Anyways on Win7... Start > type in "services" > Find Desktop Windows Manager > Right Click > Properties > Startup: Disabled. And restart. It should work. If not you may need to tweak the registry a bit (google it)

That indeed worked. Clocks are down again to 169 / 100. Thank you!

Could not use the installation for my new Dell XPS M1730 with two 9800M GT (SLI).

This notebook is not included in the nv_disp.inf.

Tried to add it but failed.

Any help how to add it?

thanks in advance!

This disabled Desktop Window Manager is really starting to annoy me.

Does anybody know whether this is an issue with this particular driver(s) or a general one of Windows 7? Thanks.

I don't have any problem with GPU clocks with Aero (Desktop Window Manager) on.

Not sure why, but these drivers with my 8600m GT don't let me change the brightness settings, in the control panel and via the Fn keys. So I had to go back to the 190.40's. If anyone has a solution, could you please let me know?

Thanks.
