Both are MXM-II card, so there should not be any hardware problem ( maybe overheating :) ). Just maybe BIOS problem. I want to do that change myself, but my old 8600M GT is propably totally dead, so i dont know how i gonna update vBIOS?! Thanks for any comments. Guest Matthew Posted September 17, 2009 Report Share Posted September 17, 2009 I tried to replace my card with a 9600M GT - it didn't work! The screen remains dark... Maybe a modded bios help. In the IFL90 the video bios ist stored in the system bios, not in the graphics card. That's very bad. You need to modify the system bios to get the 9600M GT running. But I don't know how... Guest Syntax Error Posted September 17, 2009 Report Share Posted September 17, 2009 That's too bad. :) I hope someone figures a way out to put the 9600M GT in the IFL-90, it'd breathe some new life into the laptop of which the 8600M GT is sorely lacking in any sort of power or low heat output.
