Vaio should share the memory, you do not need to do anything.

I see than....

You do not need to disable it,Vaio only shares the system memory with the video card when it is really needed. For example in games....etc.

Otherwise it does not share it!!

See my picture

But something wrong with your windows, because 8400m gt has at least 128mb video memory(dedicated),and as you have written it goes up at XP to 256mb.

So I guess it has 256mb dedicated VRAM,just windows 7 can see only 64mb.

Download GPU-Z,it will show you all of the information about your graphic card.

Including how many dedicated ram you have

My GPU-Z shows:

Clipboard01.bmp

Here:

http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads/1709/mirrors.php

Choose a mirror and download it.

And POST what shows your gpu-z.....

Thanks a lot

Well...I checked your Vaio at the web and it should have 256mb dedicated video ram.

Have you changed your operating system to Windows 7?

Which windows has it got originaly?

XP or Vista?

Also check this:

Unfortunately your Vaio probably won`t work properly with Windows 7.
