I have an amilo xi 2528 and my graphic card had crushed down!I have an 8600M GS and i want to know what types of graphic cards are suitable for my amilo!

I would prefer to replace it with an 9600M GS!I found also an 8600M GS 512mb but my graphic card says 8600M GS 256mb!

Do i have to make a bios update if i replace my grahic card with a better one???

Thank you very much for your help!!!

I'm sorry to break the bad news, but the xi 2528 does not have an MXM slot. This has been discussed in detail in the German amilo forum. According to the datasheet, FuSi claim the notebook has MXM, when in fact it has an AXIOM Module in it (yeah very weird; a Nvidia product with the former Ati standard..)!!

In short, you can only insert the proprietory Fujitsu card.

You can always try the "baking oven trick", to bring the card back to life and I've now read quite a few success stories about it. I once brought an Ati X1400 back to life with a heat gun, so nothing is impossible...

Thank you very much for the help!!You were right i tooked out my video card and found out out that i can find a new graphic card from FuSi

http://www.siemens-notebook-zubehoer.de/product_info.php?cPath=10_10015_69243245&products_id=268017860269421124

and it costs 304 euro!!

I think that the only solution here is what you said!I have to try and bring it back to life because i don't think it is fully "burned"!

Ijust need a guide of how to do this!

If you know were i can find one it would be very helpfull!

Again thank you very much for the help!!

My laptop's card has died too and read your post here. What do you mean by the "proprietory card"? Can I buy a new GeForce 8600m gs and replace the old one?

I finally replaced my 8600m GS with a new one that i ordered from ( http://www.fujitsuspares.com/ ) It's half price than if you order from the official site but it takes too long , maybe a month and a half!I also found this ( http://global.ebay.com/ATI_Radeon_HD_2300_FSC_Amilo_Xi2528_Grafikkarte/400132488894/item )

It's the only solution!
