Gateway P-172x FX Windows XP unable to install Sound drivers

Hey guys,

ive looked around this forum and even googled the hell out for these IDT/Sigma drivers!

I downgraded from windows vista which came imaged with the laptop but now that i downgraded i cannot get the sound drivers to install, i keep getting the code 10 error over n over for each driver..

i would love it if someone was able to help me out, im so frustrated !

oh, i also try'd gateways drivers from their support site and still get the code 10 error!

im running windows xp sp3 home edition

i had the same problem if you want the drivers add me to your messenger list ionut_morfeus. i don't remind myself where i downloaded them from.

try again, anthony. The Gateway IDT HD Audio 5.10.5939.0 WinXP driver should be compatible with your Gateway P-172X FX computer. This package contains both Vista and XP IDT Audio drivers build 5939.

Its setup program should first install the Microsoft UAA High Definition Audio Bus driver [hdaudbus.sys] under XP, and then install the IDT HD Audio v5.10.5939.0 drivers.
