And why, twice repeated version of the driver for windows 7 32-bit?

Some people are reporting that if you remove Physx from the installation files then the control panel will install ok.

There are 32 and 64 bit versions of the driver Firefly.

Go read the actual 196.34 thread in the forum. The problem was that the modded .INF was incompatible with the North American version of the installer (which is what the links above point to).

If you download the drivers from LV2G, you'll note that the archive was built using the International version, which works great with the .INF.

The drivers we load here has PHYSX removed, no use wasting bandwidth for the same old driver again and again.

I have gotten the driver to install with setup.exe and a working CPL.

Grab the driver from here not the links above.

Grab the modded INF if you need it.

Replace original INF with modded one

Run setup.exe or update driver via device manager.

This I've done and am running now, with x64 version, can't test x32 version but should work also.

Installed 196.34 for Win7 x64 over the weekend.

Thus far, there are no issues. Control Panel works as expected with no glitches.

Will post if anything new develops.

Regards.
