*THIS POST IS INACCURATE AND NOT UP TO DATE. I WILL UPDATE IT WHEN I CAN.*

Nvidia Hybrid Graphics (aka Switchable Graphics)

Hybrid Graphics drivers are only officially released by notebook manufacturers due to how they are packaged. Intel GMA HD notebooks are currently incompatible with Intel GMA 4500MHD drivers and Intel GMA 4500MHD notebooks are incompatible with Intel GMA HD drivers.

Latest Officially Released Hybrid Graphics Drivers:

Hybrid Graphics Notebooks with Intel GMA HD

- 64bit =
[Model: Sony Vaio Z (VPC-Z) - Released: September 14th, 2010]

- 32bit =
[Model: Vostro 3700 - Released: May 24th, 2010]

Hybrid Graphics Notebooks with Intel GMA 4500MHD

- 64bit =
[Model: M11x(R1) Released: Jun 29th, 2010]

- 32bit =
[Model:Pavilion DM3-1150EL Released: Dec 11th, 2009]

Nvidia Optimus

The latest Verde release should be the latest that works with Optimus, there are a few exceptions however. There are often OEM, Quadro, and other drivers released that may work with Optimus and be newer. Most Optimus notebooks should be able to use Verde drivers with out modification of the INF there are a few cases however where modification is needed. OEM, Quadro and drivers other than Verde that are released and support Optimus will need a modified INF to install properly.

Latest Officially Released Optimus Capable Drivers:

- 64bit =
[Released: September 14th, 2010]

- 32bit =

Intel HD Graphics

Latest Officially Released Intel HD Drivers:

yes there is...

edit:

Nautis, I would like to know how you get the latest

nvBridge_int.kmd - 7

nvdisp_IH.nvu - both

nvtmmhyb.dll - vista

because your driver always have the latest version of them...

and how you edited all of the infs? For me I am using a software "Beyond Compare" to make sure i don't miss a single line...

I am going to be posting up modified INFs for the above mentioned drivers. The INFs should cover most if not all Hybrid Graphics notebooks.

Probably a better question for Hybrid Graphics Modding 101.

I also use Beyond Compare it is an essential application for much of what I do.

nvtmmhyb.dll is actually part of the drivers it is in the control panel installer package.

nvBridge_int.kmd AFAIK should be pretty much the same throughout all versions. The latest driver package posted on windows update always has nvBridge_int.kmd included the same for nvdisp_IH.nvu. (check the link for 259.47 on the front page) In some of my more recent packages I have modified nvdisp_IH.nvu to include the 64bit Intel files. (for some most of the nvdisp_IH.nvu are for 32bit and it seems nvidia and everyone else has overlooked it.) Note: nvdisp_IH.nvu is the uninstall file for the Hybrid Graphics package.

You seem to be well on your way and have a good grasp of what is going on. If you have any questions about modding message me or post them in Modding 101 - The Basics and Hybrid Graphics since others may have the same questions.

Will these drivers "64bit = Acer 259.22 WHQL" work on a Acer 5935G latop withhybrid graphics?

I am currently using these drivers "Hybrid Graphics Master Set for Win Vista/7 64bit [Nvidia: 191.97 | Intel: 1994]

without any problems so far.

Thanks for your work

Hi, I'm going to buy an HP DM3-1150EL instead of the 1010EL because of the switchable graphics feature in order to get more battery life.

don't have yet undestand if the switch works or no on this laptop, the drivers packet on the HP site is very old and probably doesn't come with the latest improvements arrived in the 2010 like full support to hardware acceleration for h264 online streaming video (with Flash 10.1)

I'm asking this because the 1010 model is cheaper and if the switch doesn't works in the 1150, i'll buy the 1010

thank you very much for your efforts
