Guest hasan
The setup package now not only contains the inf files , but also a "listdevices.txt" file , which is the index of all the INF files , which the setup refers before reading the inf files , so even if we upload and copy the modified inf , nothing will work , until it is indexed in "listdevices" file , properly , with the correct data . :)
mobilenvidia
Yes that is an issue with Mobile driver sets that have listdevices.txt. Only current way to install these with modded INF is to: Remove all INFs Copy modded INF Install driver via Device Manager, update driver.
coolguy16
The listdevices.txt was there in OEM drivers long time back. This should not cause any issue for installing a driver with the proper modded inf. I have done it several times.
mobilenvidia
The modded INF needs to be in the list of INFs for it to work. 260.99 where I modded the Desktop INF which is not in the listdevices, so removing all INFs is the way to install driver. Guest hasan
@mobilenvidia : Can you explain your method .. it will be higlhy helpful to others too :) :)
mobilenvidia
I'm using 260.99 as reference. I removed all INFs from the driver dir. I then placed the modded INF (nv_disp.inf) in the driver dir. Edit Display.Driver.nvi Remove all but one of the references to the INFs under <manifest> Change the one remaining INF name the name of the modded INF (260.99 = nv_disp.inf) Thats it, Now run setup and it should be all good (I've just confirmed this)
