Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit (Build 7600 Retail) I got this bsod too and dont know how to fix it :) I like the new profiles it has with nvidia inspector but it has random crashes. I already rolled back to 257.21 since constant BSODs prevent me from using the laptop.

Guest Greg
Well, I got around the BSOD by taking the nvlddmkm.sy from my previous driver and installing it into this one since the one from this driver causes the BSOD. The bad thing is that the Nvidia control panel doesn't come up and you can't run Windows assessment, but my laptop seems to run smooth so far, hopefully they'll release an uncorrupted nvlddmkm.sy file soon. Ummm ignore everything I typed above, I just tried to run several games and it says it doesn't recognize the graphics card lol Time to revert, I'll leave it up to the experts from now on :)
Guest dst1
Here's how I qick&dirty did it for my 9600M GT pcie (DEV_0649) card (cheep off ebay) : (backup&)edit .\Display.Driver\nv_disp.inf, go to [NVIDIA..64.6.1] section ( cus I run W7x64 ) copy the %NV.._DEV.638.01.. line ( im to lazy to write all :P ) change it to %NV.._DEV.649.01.. I also added my "&SUBSYS_xxxxxxxx" at the end of the line, might not be necessary.. ? this new .649.01 line refers to "= Section008" : dont know if this the best/optimal for my card, well-well.. anyway went down to [section008] and set NvSupport3DVision = to 0 ( cus i dont have 3D googles  ) also optional : [section008] has .. AddReg = nv_miscBase_addreg__02 So I went down to [nv_miscBase_addreg__02] here I added .. HKLM,"Software\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\NVTWEAK",PhysxShowUI,%REG_DWORD%,1 -that gave me the "Set PhysX Configuration" under 3D Settings in NVIDIA Control Panel :) Don't forget to add the card down at the end in the [strings] .. NVIDIA_DEV.0649.01 = "NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT" save file and try the "have disk" install method + a rebooted might help ( ref FQA ).. So my Q is : 1> is there and card index that tell the best [section0xx] to use, pr DEV, SUBSYS.. ? 2> other usefull [nv_miscBase_addreg_0x] setting (+ a short expl) that could be added ? :)
