Guest datazbytes Posted December 24, 2010 Report Share Posted December 24, 2010 Hi, I have recently bought Geforce 8600gt 512mb to replace broken one in my Aspire 5920, similar model but with less memory. When trying to remove write protection on new card i get error message: NVIDIA Firmware Update Utility (Version 5.100) Adapter: GeForce 8600M GT (10DE,0407,1025,0121) H:--:NRM B:01,PCI,D:00,F:00 The display may go *BLANK* on and off for up to 10 seconds during access to the EEPROM depending on your display adapter and output device. Identifying EEPROM... EEPROM ID (20,0000) : Unknown And trying to write acer rom doesnt seem to do anything, still stuck with black screen. Have you tried using a more up to date software like nvFlash.v5.95 to do the flashing.
