pizzathehut893
Hello, I was looking to upgrade my Alienware m5500i-R3 laptop with an ATI HD 4570. I currently have an ATI x1400 and I'm pretty sure I have an MXM II slot. The ATI HD 4570 card is a MXM II VGA card but I'm not sure if it will fit. Does anyone know if this will work? quipster
Should work, but it could be necessary to grind the heatsink at some spot to make room for a bigger coil. Also a copper shim in combination with thermal paste is advised as a replacement for the thermal pad. Other than that a pretty straightforward swap. pizzathehut893
Alright I think I got all that. Will I have to do anything once I get the card in and I turn on the computer?
