erp-ster7n
well Michael M, since you didn't want to make a modded 6.10.6388 driver, can you at least make a modded 6.10.6392 driver? the 6392 drivers were released by HP recently. update: found out about this in another forum site recently but the sp56717 package from HP has their own version of the 6.10.6388.0 driver. oh well - too little, too late for it now, I guess. Update 5/2: there is the sp56996 package which contained IDT HD Audio driver v6.10.6393.0 but some people who own certain new HP laptops have encountered problems with the 6393 driver as reported in another forum. HP temporarily removed it from their download servers earlier but it's now up again. Edited May 2, 2012 by erp-ster7n
coolguy16
Michael - One interesting observation, I had removed the pin config from the INI for my Vaio, the driver auto detected all the jacks. I had a separate "Headphones" device in the playback devices (like the Microsoft driver) and the mics showed up as two different entries too. There is no need for the fliter section in the INI, it can be removed safely, at least for my Stac 9225 chip. The 6392 driver works fine for me. I am using my own modded INF/ INI. No, IDT/ HP doesn't change the driver with the same version numbers. The INF dates are the same, I had checked them. Any IDT driver should work in any IDT chip when properly modded. This is the whole purpose of this thread. HP releases the same driver in different packages through their FTP, but the drivers are still the same, only the version number matters. For example, the 6392 driver should be the same, even when it's released multiple times. A new IDT 6395 driver is released in the MS update catalog. erp-ster7n
but not everyone uses modded IDT drivers, coolguy16. got that. some users don't even want to mod them. and even if they try to mod them properly, they still may not work as expected. so the results from using modded IDT audio drivers may vary. in your case, any modded IDT audio seem to work for your machine, while some other users, the modded IDT audio drivers haven't seem to work out for other computers with IDT hardware on them. found a user on the notebookreview forums where the 6393, 6392 and 6388 drivers didn't work well on his HP laptop. IDT High Definition Audio driver, versions 6.10.6392.0, 6.10.6393.0 and 6.10.6388.0 all are causing my laptop to freeze at startup. Went back to 6.10.6351.0 - so far so good. A new IDT 6395 driver is released in the MS update catalog. supported hardware ID nos. for IDT Audio 6.10.6395.0 driver are the following: hdaudio\func_01&ven_111d&dev_7676&subsys_103c2ae0 hdaudio\func_01&ven_111d&dev_76c7&subsys_103c2ab5 hdaudio\func_01&ven_111d&dev_76c7&subsys_103c2acd hdaudio\func_01&ven_111d&dev_76c7&subsys_103c3ab5 we'll wait and see if Michael Marley will make either the modded 6392 or 6393 drivers. don't ask him to make the newly released 6395 drivers since he doesn't want to make modded IDT drivers that were provided by MS update catalog. Michael's modded INF/ INI doesn't include the control panel or the extra effects, so you don't need to worry about it. I am modding the IDT driver for 2 years now, and I know the ins and outs of the IDT INF's and INI's. In my machine, the Intel released 6370 driver sounds the best, with the basic IDT audio effects enabled. ShadowSync
Greetings, Well today my 2 year decided to throw a football at my laptop which then broke off the tip of my headphones into the headphone jack. After about 2 hours of fiddling around, I could not get the piece out so my computer now permanently thinks the headphones are in and do not allow the sound to play out of the speakers. I have searched another 2 hours or so for a fix to make it where the speakers will play while the headphones are technically considered on. I have seen semi-easy fixes for Realtek; but I have the IDT built in audio (HP ProBook 4530s) and the reg fixes that work for the realtek HD do not show up as options for this card. I am currently using Michael's latest IDT/Sigmatel modded driver, does anyone know if its possible and if so what are the registry changes needed to disable the front jack or enable the speakers to play while the front jack is active? Thank you very much, Nicholas
