Michael Marley
Can everyone who has successfully installed the drivers please tell me what operating system they run and whether it is 32- or 64-bit? I am trying to figure out if the 32-bit driver is broken.
Michael Marley
I just uploaded a new archive with support for a few more HP models.
adam777
Michael, something is definitely wrong with your server, I too face problems with corrupted downloaded files. I've tried Firefox, DownThemAll!, IE and Wget for windows. It did work at some point, and I believe somewhere along the thread you mentioned something regarding fixing some sort of problem. HunterZ0
I've got an M1730 running Vista 32-bit and will try to remember to test this tonight and report my findings. Thanks for releasing and supporting this!
adam777
Can you guys try the download again? I tried to fix it. Works, don't forget what you just did :) And, while I'm here, 2 things that seem to have been lost in the thread. - I do not have the enhancements tab on my speakers properties (http://technicallyeasy.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/disable-all-enhancements.png). Am I right to assume no such enhancements exist on driver, so no need to worry about disabling? - Is it possible to keep a changelog or any other text, so one can track when the package is updated? Be it a formal changelog, different package name, "last updated" text etc. Thanks again, Adam. Edited February 7, 2011 by adam777

Be it a formal changelog, different package name, "last updated" text etc. Thanks again, Adam. I compiled the Linux kernel with GCC 4.5.x instead of a 4.6 prerelease :) There are no "enhancements" and this is why you cannot disable them. I will make a changelog. Good idea :P
Guest Mike
Can you guys try the download again? I tried to fix it. I have been trying for 3 days, same error still when trying to extract. I also tried manually opening the .exe with 7zip, and copying/extracting and got the same message as the self-extractor.
d3v
Mikey, you're a legend. Thanks for coming back to these drivers. I lost your older ones in a HDD failure. I'm probably going to be a lucky one (for once) as I have the same core laptop as you and an x64 version of Win 7 Ultimate. I'm one of those experiencing download issues. I've tried several times through Ff, with and without a d/l manager. I'm also using the x64 9.20 version of 7-Zip and have tried both manual and self-extraction methods. Once the d/l is sorted I'll hold off on any issues I may have, while you work on other folks'. I've waited long enough. A little more time isn't gonna affect me. ps. If anyone needs Windows Vista/7 x64 configuration files for the IDT/Sigmatel 9205 incarnation in a Dell Vostro 1500 (and 92xx in a few other machines*) the driver listed as being for 32bit Vista only has an x64 install contained within the same package. It went missing from their ftp for a long while but it seems to be back up again now. If you ever need it and that happens again, just search elsewhere online for the driver package named R171786.exe * Inspiron: 1420, 1520, 1521, 1525, 1526, 1720, 1721 Latitude: XT Vostro Notebook: 1010, 1011, 1400, 1500, 1700 XPS: M1330, M1530, M1730 pps. I just moved your driver to the root of my "C" drive and tried to extract it there to see if there is a long path issue, but it appears not. Michael Marley
I just made two changes. I fixed support for Dell Latitude D8x0 laptops (thanks to Mobilenvidia) and I added a download for an md5 checksum file. I would like someone who is having corrupt file problems to check the checksum. This will help me to narrow down where the problem occurs. Also, when reporting a corrupt download, please post the exact size of the download in bytes (from the Properties window).

Beyond
Probably those corruption of file problems are caused by the 7z bug. 7z algorithms at a certain compression levels are bugged. Usually I have many corruption problems with LZMA2 ultra when archives are above a certain size but I suppose some others are bugged too, I tried long ago but don't remember which ones. The problems were caused by corruption during the file download. That was the reason I wanted people to check it with the MD5 sum. The FTP download seems to be working, though. sony_M_WRT2-7.INI.txt
