Hello

I am new to this forum and have some difficulties finding the correct driver for my notebook. Hopefully you guys could help me out!

I have a Sony Vaio VPCZ12C5E with a nVidia 330m GT – do there exist any driver which support the Hybrid Graphics for my notebook? I still use the old nVidia driver provided from Sony.

Thanks a lot for your help

Since such thread already exists, I'll just add my 2 cents here.

I have Sony VAIO desktop PC, model VPCL13M1R with GeForce GT 330M on board. The only graphics driver available is the original one dated March 2010. I can't update it at all, because Nvidia's driver pack say, that there's no compatible hardware and Sony's support sucks arse. They only update their stupid programs, not system drivers.

Is it possible to make changes in INF files and update my drivers?

My hardware ID is: PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0A29&SUBSYS_9060104D&REV_A2

OK, I already got a solution, so I want to share it with those, who've made a mistake and bought Sony hardware.

1. Get Hardware ID for you graphics card. It's in Device Manager -> Display Adapters -> Your graphics card -> Details -> Hardware Ids. Should look like this: PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0A29&SUBSYS_9067104D

2. Download latest video drivers from Nvidia site.

3. Unpack it.

4. Open nvszc.inf file in Display.Driver folder. At least, this file was for my 330M card.

5. Find these 2 lines: [NVIDIA_SetA_Devices.NTamd64.6.0] and [NVIDIA_SetA_Devices.NTamd64.6.1]

6. Add below each one a line similar to this: %NVIDIA_DEV.0A29.02% = Section023, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0A29&SUBSYS_9067104D, changing Section023 to Section024 and PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0A29&SUBSYS_9067104D with your Hardware ID.

7. Enjoy.

Dont know if I did something wrong but it sure did not work on my VPCZ112GX, good thing i created a restore point before trying this. :S

Getting the drivers to install worked but when i restarted my computer the graphics was messed up.

Any other tips?
