Are you able to extract the files?

I tried with Uniextract but unable to get anything meaningful out.

I also tried the executable with the /x switch but the files were mangled.

Is anyone able to get the Purevideo Component out of this driver set?

Install original universal extractor and replace it with these updated files, then to make sure you have the latest run the built in automatic updater

http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8201

They have taken the source code and improoved universal extractor, they have also updated lots of bin files

Then when extracting this installer choose E_Wise unpacker or WUN unpacker

I was able to extract the files with the latest Uniextract (default unpacker) without any issue. There are two Purevideo files in the Display.driver folder. The inf has the setting for getting the Sony purevideo extension.

This driver inf has all the sections for Vaio GPU's 8400M GT, 8600M GS, 8600M GT, and 9600M GT. Only the the common display modes are missing (you can copy this from the 259.42 Sony inf). So you can use this inf to preserve your OEM settings (LCD EDID data).
