Is it possible to put the 280 drivers onto a hybrid laptop?

I am currently using an Asus UL50VT and have updated my drivers to 197 successfully using some guides posted here. I am not sure I understand how modding infs work and so I cannot figure out how to install the newer drivers on my own.

Is it possible to get the newer drivers onto the hybrid laptops? If so, could someone point me in the right direction.

AFAIK you can only do that if you run the laptop in Optimus mode. See the thread Optimus on hybrid graphics.
