You can now download the 296.17 driver directly from NVidia rather than getting it off of Windows Updates as a cab file but NVidia still says that this driver is only for Windows 8 Consumer Preview, not for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8 Developer Preview.

NVidia says that the 296.10 driver is the equivalent to the 296.17 driver and in my performance comparison tests they came out the same. If you're on Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8 DP better just use the 296.10 driver.

Ist because of the CAT file, its only digitally signed for 6.2. The one on Windows Update in CAB form is signed for 6.1 so it will work on both Win7+8

The nVIDIA's version has got date "5/3/2012" while MS's has "6/3'2012". After installing the nVIDIA's version, Microsoft Update shows an update for the VGA tha it is the same of course!!

Not having any luck here. I have a Dell D620 with Windows 8 Consumer Preview installed (32 bit). The system only sees the onboard video. The system has an NVS 110M installed. I have tried a number of drivers, including the 296.17 release.

Still doesn't see NVS 110M.

What am I doing wrong?
