Chrisfi
Since migrating my old Vaio VGN-S4XP/B from XP to Win7 and installing a personally modified version of Sonys 167.43 Vista driver, I have noticed that the nVidia Control Panel System Information indicates that the card was using 255 MB of shared memory. However, under XP it was 128 MB and the systems specs state only 128 MB. Having previously searched this forum I have found that it was believed that a high shared graphics memory indication was a 'feature' of Vista and assumed Win7 had the same problem so I ignored it. Well, I have just doubled my laptops RAM to 2 GB and have noticed that System Information now indicates I have 495 MB of shared system memory. I should point out that this has not made any difference to the 3D Mark score of the system. Although this is no big issue to me, I would be very interested to understand why this has happened. Can anyone explain this? Thanks
