I'll start with the information on the laptop first.

  • Laptop Make/Model: Alienware Mx17 R1
  • Graphics Card -- Device ID (DEV_ID) if known

1.) Nvidia GeForce 9400M G ID: PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0862&SUBSYS_02A11028&REV_B1

2.) Nvidia GeForce GTX 260M ID: PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0618&SUBSYS_02A11028&REV_A2 (Currently Disabled in Device Manager)

  • Current working Driver Version: 8.17.13.259 Date: 5/4/2012
  • Last Useable Driver Version: Nov or Dec of 2011 (If I remember right)
  • Operating System: Win 7 SP1
  • An accurate description of the issue at hand

After updating to the new drivers I'm unable to some of the games I was playing with the old drivers. I updated so I could play some newer games that need the updated drivers to function properly. Now the older game that was working fine locks up after I launch the game. Am I going to have to go back to the old drivers? Or should I try some older drivers from the site?

I couldn't get the Nerd program to work, I tried, sorry I can't provide that information.

EDIT: Also, this occurs no matter the combination of disabled/enabled video cards.
