New Drivers (>197.44) for Hybrid Power (9600M GS and 9100M G)

Recommended Posts

Hey there,

I'm using a Medion Akoya P8610 notebook.

This notebook uses Hybrid Power Technology with a 9600M GS in combination with a 9100M G.

The last driver I'm getting  to work on my system, is the 197.44 with the modded INF file from the download section.

When I'm trying to install some of the 2xx versions, it is possible to install them (with modded inf  from download section),

but after the restart, the notebook stays at the welcome screen for a really long time (1-3 minutes) and after that, the Hybrid Power Symbol ist shown as in "energy saving mode".

The device manager only shows the 9100M G graphic card as installed.

The 9600M GS is not displayed anywhere.

When I'm trying to install the 3xx drivers, the installation runs perfectly. (even without modded inf)

Both cards are correctly shown in the device manager, but only the 9100M G seems to be working.

There is no Hybrid Power Symbol in the Taskbar and it is not possible to get the 9600M GS to work with any application/game.

Any ideas what i can do, to get some newer drivers to work?

Drivers I've tested:

195.62 works (modded inf)
197.44 works (modded inf)

257.15 could not be installed
270.28 can be installed, but only the 9100 works and is displayed in the device manager, Hybrind Power Symbol shown as if in "energy saving mode"
285.38 can be installed, but only the 9100 works and is displayed in the device manager, Hybrind Power Symbol shown as if in "energy saving mode"
295.73 can be installed, but only the 9100 works and is displayed in the device manager, Hybrind Power Symbol shown as if in "energy saving mode"

301.42 can be installed, both cards are correctly shown in the device Manager, no Hybrid Power Symbol, not possible to switch to the 9600M
314.22 can be installed, both cards are correctly shown in the device Manager, no Hybrid Power Symbol, not possible to switch to the 9600M

My System:

Windows 7 Professional 64Bit

4GB RAM

Intel Core 2 Duo (T5800)

I think you can forget all 3.xx and later 2.xx drivers as hybrid support was dropped somewhere in mid - 2.xx. The only thread with more info is this: http://forums.laptopvideo2go.com/topic/27115-latest-official-drivers-for-hybridswitchable-graphics-optimus/?hl=%2Bthe+%2Blatest+%2Bhybrid+%2Bdriver+%2Bversion#entry132399 but probably you have waded thru it?

I think this thread is refering to the combination of Nvidia GPU + Intel onboard solution.

I'm hoping that there is another solution for my combination of GPUs :P

btw, I just downloaded driver Version 197.45 via windows update.

Seems to work propperly, just like 197.44

Hello

I had 285,62 for a long time - it worked kinda funky.

Recently i installed the new 320+ driver - and now i cant change card to the 9600.

what driver version do you recommend? 197.45?
