zipper
DIY? I added my card with following lines: (and this driver really is worth trying). [NVIDIA_SetA_Devices.NTamd64.6.0]%NVIDIA_DEV.0618.01% = Section005, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0618 [NVIDIA_SetA_Devices.NTamd64.6.1]%NVIDIA_DEV.0618.01% = Section004, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0618 [NVIDIA_SetA_Devices.NTamd64.6.2]%NVIDIA_DEV.0618.01% = Section004, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0618 NVIDIA_DEV.0618.01 = "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260M"
TomTam
Yes, I can try to add my card manually, but I need more resolutions than original inf include. I need, i.e. 1024x640, 1176x664, etc etc. And i can't add them :-( Anyway, thanks.
zipper
So can't you create custom modes with those figures? I made a quick test with 311.12 and my card added - created custom modes via NVidia Control Panel: 1024x640 is possible 1176x664 isn't possible, 1176x668 is. So get grips into the inf - problems with custom modes aren't too rare with different drivers (at least in the past).
TomTam
And what about those entries "sectionXXX"? Can I choose any value? Is it dependent on something? I must change inf's name to nvam (Asus) or leave it as is? I think it's too difficult for me... Why there's is no modded inf with mobile cards and resolutions :-( Edited May 13, 2013 by TomTam
zipper
Which card does your laptop have? What's the hardware ID (NVIDIA_DEV) ? Haven't you tried the latest NVidia OEM drivers - they at least do get the modified infs: http://forums.laptopvideo2go.com/topic/30167-v32000-windows-8-64bit-nvidia-oem-mobile/
TomTam
From modded inf 306.97 (currently installed): NVIDIA_DEV.042E.01 = "NVIDIA GeForce 9300M G" %NVIDIA_DEV.042E.01% = Section101, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_042E %NVIDIA_DEV.042E.01% = Section102, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_042E %NVIDIA_DEV.042E.01% = Section103, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_042E From Device Manager: PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_042E&SUBSYS_17C21043&REV_A1 edit: No, haven't tried 320. I wanted to first test these, because I've heard they are good :) Edited May 13, 2013 by TomTam
zipper
Modes from the modified inf - you can add or edit if wanted: HKR,, NV_Modes, %REG_MULTI_SZ%, "{*}S 320x200 320x240 400x300 480x360 512x384 640x350 640x400 640x480 720x400 720x480 720x576 768x576 852x480 853x480 854x480 864x480=1FFF;"HKR,, NV_Modes, %REG_SZ_APPEND%, "SHV 800x600 1024x640 1024x768 1152x864 1176x664 1280x720 1280x768 1280x800 1280x854 1280x960 1280x1024 1360x768 1365x768 1366x768 1400x1050 1440x900 1600x900 1600x1000 1600x1024 1600x1200 1680x1050 1768x992 1800x1440 1920x1080 1920x1200 1920x1440 2048x1280 2048x1536 2560x1600 3840x2400x8,16,32,64=1F;"
TomTam
Thanks for your commitment but as I said, it is too difficult for me. I'm not a computer guru. Tried... I give up. Maybe someday, someone throw a fully modded inf. edit: Or maybe anyone know if "Mobility Moder.NET" will work? zipper
nvcv.infTry this - might work or not... Mobilitymodder hasn't been updated since 2009 :cry2:
TomTam
Thanks! But there are some problems (a few BSODs). I think it is related to the lack of entry "section10x" in the original inf. A good description of what I'm talking about is here http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=377158&page=2 (user AudigyMaster). PS. If the link is not allowed, please forgive me, I will remove it. zipper
Problem may be your card is so much older than those in the inf - the most simple card is a 610M. I changed the section numbers to 610 ones - if you still want to try. nvcv.inf
TomTam
Still there is something wrong. Who and how much I have to pay for the fully modded inf? ;-)))) PS. Thaks for your time! But I think I'll stay with current drivers (306.97), or check other.
