Hello i succefully installed a new M2000M Quadro to my Precision M4700

It recognises it as a standard Microsoft Display Adapter in Windows 10 X64

Need a custom inf file so i can install the latest nvidia driver (i tried the one from this forum but doesnt work)

PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_13B0&SUBSYS_153E1028

Which INF did you try exactly?

Did you disable driver signature and used "have disk" method?

PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_13B0&SUBSYS_153E1028

Edit the inf file of the nvidia driver for Dell (nvdmwi.inf)

pick either of these

NVIDIA_DEV.13B0.06D9.1028 = "NVIDIA Quadro M2000M"
NVIDIA_DEV.13B0.16D9.1028 = "NVIDIA Quadro M2000M"

and change it

the first search the file for M2000M and change :

NVIDIA_DEV.13B0.06D9.1028 = "NVIDIA Quadro M2000M"  => NVIDIA_DEV.13B0.153E.1028 = "NVIDIA Quadro M2000M"

Then Search 13B0.06D9.1028 - might have to do it twice

and  change

%NVIDIA_DEV.13B0.06D9.1028% = Section214, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_13B0&SUBSYS_06D91028  =>

%NVIDIA_DEV.13B0.153E.1028% = Section214, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_13B0&SUBSYS_153E1028

Install driver manually

Should work - worked for me  on a M1000M card

Also need to know how to install moded driver in win10:

Contrary to the previous Windows Operating Systems the latest ones from Win8 up do not allow the manual installation of any modded driver by simply hitting "Have Disk".
Nevertheless it is possible to get them properly installed and working.
This is the easiest way how to do it:

  1. Hit the "Shift" key while clicking onto the "Restart" option.
  2. After the reboot choose the options "Troubleshoot" > "Advanced Options" > "Startup Settings" > "Restart".
  3. During the next reboot hit "F7" (= option "Disable driver signature enforcement").
  4. Once the OS is up, you can get any suitable modded driver properly installed from within the Device Manager by using the "Have Disk Method" (see above).
  5. Until the next reboot you can install as many unsigned or modded drivers as you want or need to.

i currently have the Dell M4800 and it has the AMD Raedon R9 M200X with the Intel I7-4800MQ CPU.

the Dell bios has a video area where i can select switchable disable or enable.

i usually leave it to disable so it uses its 2GB dedicated memory and the vcard has less problems when trying to run games.

when switchable graphics = enabled then some games wont play because it says something about shared memory or something.

anyhow i am thinking about getting the M200M but they are quite expensive.

Is there a certain version of this card that makes doing the gpu swap easier or more compatible/stable?

what about temperatures and thermal throttling?

im trying to figure out if i should go this route and spend around $200 to $250 off ebay or if i should just get another laptop and sell this one....

suggestions please.

i do like my current laptop as i have 16GB memory and two SSD in a Raid-0 all setup and running windows 10 nicely so a gpu upgrade would be nice with the MXM 3.x Type A connector.
