I used the Windows Update cab file described above, and used mobilenvidia's modified inf file that he's described above. After installing it for my GTX 1080 desktop card, dxdiag reports it as a WHQL driver for me, and WDDM 2.1. You'll probably need to boot up Win 10 in Disable Driver Signature Enforcement Mode, and might need to install as an Express Install. Works for desktop cards on Win10 64-bit.
