Didn't think NV would be using 7zip
But there are CRC errors

This driver is working fine for me with modded INF

Anyway you can properly add the Geforce 9600M GT to the INF list for this driver? I tried to mod it but it keeps giving me a failed to install graphics driver error.

You're only hope are the 340series drivers https://forums.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/207-geforce-r340-series/

NV dropped support for all 300series GPU's and lower from the 340 series

Will the GTX 1050 ti work with that driver if I were to mod it into the INF file? I'm trying to get it to work with my EXP GDC Express Card External GPU dock and was hoping if doing this would help it work.

NVIDIA_DEV.1C21 = "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti"
NVIDIA_DEV.1C61 = "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti"
NVIDIA_DEV.1C82 = "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti"
NVIDIA_DEV.1C8C = "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti"

are already in the modified inf - check which yours is.

Modded INFs support all GPUs out, but only from 400 series and up as these only work with 343 series and up drivers

So I cant force my 1050 ti INF mod information into an older driver then?

Also my EVGA 1050 ti SC hardware IDs are the following.

PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_1C82&SUBSYS_62533842&REV_A1

PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_1C82&SUBSYS_62533842

PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_1C82&CC_030000

PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_1C82&CC_0300

You sure can but the above is only the 1/2 of it, you also need to added to start of INF:
%NVIDIA_DEV.1C82% = INF section,      PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_1C82

Thank you, I'll be sure to give it a try later and update you on it if it works out.

Well I tried adding the 1050 ti to this and an older driver but to no avail as I get an install failed error or the driver not activating upon installation. Even with driver enforcement disabled it still fails to install properly. Am I doing something catastrophically wrong with the INF modding or is it an incompatibility issue that cant be avoided?

Attach your INF in a zip file I'll have a look

342.01 is the driver you are trying to use the GTX1050 Ti on ?
I think you are mixing Win 7-8.1 driver INF with Windows 10, this will never work

What are you trying to achieve ?

I'm trying to get my EVGA 1050 ti super clock edition to work as an external GPU with my Acer Aspire 8930g by running it through the Express card adapter slot with a V8.0 EXP GDC Laptop External Independent Video Card Dock, however every time I switch on the external adapter the system will either automatically force install a driver that would not activate upon reboot or fail to install the driver if done manually.

Since this Laptop doesn't have a UEFI Legacy Boot mode to allow the external GPU to be detected by the bios upon powering on the laptop, I thought I could circumvent around that issue by adding/forcing the inboard laptops Geforce 9600M GT's INF's Information into an newer Driver or vise versa with with adding the 1050ti's INF into an older driver so that it can be recognized by the drivers and allow me to use both GPU's in what ever application I need them in (like Sketch up's Vray render plugin).

Is it possible to get either method of INF modding to work out with this or is it an impossible endeavor due to hardware incompatibility?

Issue might be the driver that supports the 9600 is so old that it probably doesn't recognise the 1050
You are stuck in loop of too old vs too new

At least play with Win7 or Win10 drivers for both cards, you are modding Win10 into/from Win7 which won't work.
I don't bother with Pre-Win 10 drivers as they are incompatible

You should have mentioned that in first place.

Old and new GPU require different kernel mode layer handlers (nvlddmkm.sys).

Latest driver for your legacy GPU would be 342.01

https://forums.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/207-geforce-r340-series/

Otherwise check Windows 10 support for your rig here:
