Guest [mouta]
Hi guys, i need some help on the overclocking, i mean some informations. I got a GeForce 4 488 Go 64 MB, will i got a really better performance with the overclocking? I can access the overclock option on NVIDIA Panel, i'm using the 56.56 drivers with Pieter INF. With the overclock will i take risks? Can i screw up my video card and the laptop? Thanks in advance. Btw i got 327 in 3DMark 2003 and 5643 in 3DMark 2001 SE. (Without overclock) Edited March 9, 2004 by dontknow
Guest w00ters
hey man, O/Cing will give a slight increase [how much is determined by the O/C]. First you need a few things: I8KFanGUI Once Installed, note current CPU, GPU, temps. O/C Property page in display properties What you want to do is bump memory speeds up slightly. Note temp changes. Keep bumping the mem speeds up [as they give most performance]. Don't O/C core too much [adds heat/less performance]. Keep going till satisfied [or GPU is too hot]. Now benchmark. Posts results :)
mobilenvidia
[mouta] What speed CPU do you have, I've added you to my Performance page. Pieter.
Guest [mouta]
P4 3,06 , 512 DDR I'll try the 53.81 Drivers and then i'll put here the benchmark results. :)

Guest [mouta]
[Mouta]Add your CPU speed as well (Ta very much) I see you've added your specs to your sig (nice machine) Pieter. Thanks. :) It was not cheaper too... :) Btw i tried the 53.81 and got a worst performance so i changed to the 56.56 again but the strange thing is that when i tested 56.56 i got even worst performance than the 53.81... i can't get the performance i got 1rst time with 56.56 so i changed back to the 53.81... what do you think it happen Pieter? Thanks in advance.
mobilenvidia
I have the same problem with my machine. Some of the performance tabs in the Diplay properties arn't working yet. (56.56) When they do, it should make a difference. Pieter.

mobilenvidia
That is entirely up to you. You use what ever driver works best for you. That is the whole point of all these INF so you have a choice. Enjoy, Pieter.

I noticed you're making many chances to the INF... :)
mobilenvidia
I make many changes to my INFs as I find new things, sometimes fix other things or add new GPU's. I don't work on performance as this requires modifying the drivers them selves. If you want speed StarStorm is the answer (at loss of quality ?) All 20.15 INFs are internally the same, so the only difference in speed is related to the driver it self. Hope this helps, Pieter.
Guest [mouta]
Hi again Pieter, i've made some more benchmark tests. :) Here are the results: 53.81 - 20.16 INF 3dmark 2001 - 5278 3dMark 2003 - 341 53.82 - 20.17 INF 3dmark 2001 - 5556 3dmark 2003 -
mobilenvidia
Quite a difference in 3DMark 2k1. Still not as fast as 56.56 in 2k1 Although 2k3 scores are getting faster (even though the 4x0go arn't very good at DX9 Have you tried some of the earlier 44.xx drivers with 2k1 ? Pieter.
