So doing some research and troubleshooting on my issue with the display brightness and bit color output depth I found out that every driver after 388.43 installs a ghost monitor and puts my laptop display as the secondary monitor for some reason. In the registry it doesn't make it my default monitor. Any ideas?

You may need to fiddle with original HP INF settings and bring them across to the modded INF
