Here is part of the problem, I assume the laptop has been upgraded with 880M NV may have disabled MxM - Maximus switching maybe by OEM pressure that upgrades were happening outside their control Warranty issues may have been a factor, as you break you laptop with a 880M in and just put the original GPU back in and send it back for repairs All speculation, but it looks like NV has changed the rules at 381series Without an affected machine, little I can do I started this website with my Geforce 2go, and no updated drivers, spent countless hours working out how INFs work You may need to experiment with your machine Or go back to original GPU (if its been upgraded) and theoretically the NV released OEM mobile drivers should work without modded INF My laptop is pre-owned. According to the former owner you take it absolutely right and, unfortunately, I have no this original GPU. I wonder if there any option to make 880m unique in the system locking the integrated GPU. You can disable iGPU in device manager (but don't uninstall) and see what happens.

mobilenvidia
Device manager Display Adapter then disable Intel HD Graphics In task manager under 'Performance' you should now only see the GTX 880M under GPU

According to TM, there is only 880m function. It's all the same, iGPU cooler starts working in games as usual. Changing Powerful management mode also hasnt work out for good. mobilenvidia
iGPU is built into the CPU so in a game the CPU will heatup and fan(s) will spin up even with iGPU disabled What happens when have the performance page up in Task Manager Run the game for a few minutes, the GPU graph for 880m should have some results if it was used Possibly even better grab GPUz and have the "sensors' page open while playing for a few minutes

mobilenvidia
Yikes your CPU is running at 86deg, thats hot, I assume what ever you tested is running via the CPU I'm at a loss why your 880M is not being used, pretty well all tricks under the sun have been tried If you can find a MxM card that came from a Clevo based laptop maybe try that Can only assume NV has removed code to switch the Maximus with MxM CPU's where the PCI_ID doesn't match what the OEM would have had if they released it
ieaglei
Actually earlier I planed to purchase 1060, but now I so hesitate about changing my old GPU with new one as it is not cheap at all and would cause many problem as the current one does. I would rather buy asus or kinda like that...

zipper
It might matter - but must say I never had problems with an old Intel driver on my HD 4000 against new Nvidia drivers on my now blown 680M. Worth trying, maybe Optimus is spoiled with a mismatch.
