Palardo
Tried Modded 43.45 and 44.03 from Teraphy They don't don't handle the NVIEW portion very well. Takes a whole minute to release NVIEW if enabled at shutdown. Second video screen only gives centered not full frame video. Also the Color Corrections are never remembered. I am using the 44.03 driver from NVIDIA with Teraphy's modded driver/ Need to go all the way back to 30.82 from DELL I have a 8200 Inspirion Help Teraphy or anyone? mobilenvidia
Palardo, nVidia has released 56.64 for all Windozes, grab this driver. Then when installing, ie if you have a Geforce 2go install it as a Geforce 2mx (same GPUs) Geforce4 go4x0 as Geforce4 4x0mx All other mobile GPUs and up just install as their desktop counterparts. Now you have latest driver for Win 9X. You won't have any tweaks, but that's the price you pay for lat Milliniums drivers. Pieter.
Teraphy
Palardo! Long time no see :) You and the 9X, I tell you! :) 9X is worse than a black bar issue with Toshiba's. I haven't touched 9x in a while but I need your display size. What version are you after? 56.64 is out. http://www.nvidia.com/object/win9x_56.
Guest Guest
Hi Chris Yes I figured out all the 4 main defects that 44.03 has with 98. 1. NVIEW delay shutdown 2. Applying a profile wacks out my taskbar and spreads it across the screen. 3. Color Corrections are not remembered on next boot, 4. When Overlay is set on Autodetect on NVIDIA panel VGA produces a fullscreen video only the first time a DVD is run. The seconf time the VIdeo is centered or off centered on the the VGA second monitor. I am about to go back to 30.82 and screw iall the extras. Do you think 56.64 will work? What does pieter mean when he says I won't get the tweaks? Thanks Palardo

Teraphy
You won't get tweaks such as additional panels in the display area. 56.64 wouldn't hurt to try.
Teraphy
I should've asked more questions. What card you have and if you wanted English only? Attached is 56.64 English only GeForce2 Go GeForce4 440 Go GeForce4 420 Go GeForce4 420 Go NVAGP.INF
Palardo
Chris Thanks for the 56XX INF for the GEFORCE 440. I will give it shot. I couldn't load the Driver from NVIDIA cause their INF doesn't have my PCI ID #. I imagine your INF does. So now will this Driver work better in 98 than 44.03? Without those probs listed above. I also went back to 28.80 from NVIDIA for the Inspirion 8200. Now this seemed to be very fast however, when a VGA is connected and enabled in EXT mode and NVIEW is ENABLED there are very serious shutdown and Bootup issues caused. When the above configuration exists... Shutdown will usually hang on a black screen and never power down. WHen I force the power button off, the next time I boot I get an invoked SCANDISK and a Norton Disk Doctor Scan which both say "The BOOT AREA on this Drive contains invalid info about the drives free space Windows may report the Drive's Free Space incorrectly or Slowly. Would you lkle to correct?" I correct this issue and continue back to Win98. Also when I boot having left windows in EXT mode and the VGA connected this DRIVER always sends my primary display to my VGA instead of my LCD. I have to Fn F8 the VGA boot screen back to the LCD before I continue into windows or there are big probs. VERsion 30.82 Does not send my primary Display to my VGA on the next boot. But it does also hang upon shutdown when the VGA is eanbled with NVIEW active. ANd it does produce the same boot sector corruption as above. This is only fixed when the VGA is disconnected before shutdown. Then the shutdown goes to powerdown and before the next boot I reconnect the VGA, the LCD returns as primary dispplay and I don't have to fb f8 before going back to win98. 44.03 doesn't have these Boot and shutdown probs but has the probs I've listed with full displkay on the VGA and incompatibilies with nvdvd, ironically a product of NVIDIA and WINDVD DISPLAY swapping. DOes this 56 version fix these things. Have youpatched the INF to allow extra features like overclocking etc. Sorry such a long letter.
