Teraphy
Craig, I take it you're on Win2K with that registry export? It all relies on OverrideEDIDFlagsX.
ministeve
OK, I reinstalled Theraphy's inf with 61.72. Looking under services/nv I have keys for both DCBOverride0 and DCBOverride1. I do not have a key at all for OverrrideEDIDFlags. Should I have two DCBOverride keys? Should I have an OverrideEDIDFlags key? Is there a way to correct this? Craig Corp I was going to write a PM to you to ask you to reinstall. Your attached reg key indeed does not contain an OverrideEdidFlags0 value and this is very likely to be wrong (DCBOverride's are not important). Moreover there's a very strange SoftEDIDs. Could you post the inf you used?

Bill
Hia, my vid is a Geforce 4 420 GO 16mbI attached the exported edid stuff! MAKE ME DRIVERS! lol :) Thanks ! Why don't you specify which version? lol Do you want a working 50s or 60s and if so which? The latest official one might be a nice place to start. After all, you would not want them modding a 20s driver for you would you? lol Just a bit of humor, don't think they are or ever were mean. Teraphy
Jediman, the 61.80 posted by ministeve on page 2 of this thread should work for you since you have a 1024x768 display -- or so it appears. I am thinking up reasons why the others aren't working and possibly another option. Our last option is to edit the BIOS but I'd rather not have to go down that road. Guest Dape
Hi. I have the same problem on 5105-s501 Bios: 4.17.00.41.B5 Subsys_id: 0x00011179 Dsp Res: 1400x1050 From what i've found out it has also somethig to do with windows service pack - i've been using 44.x drivers with inf i've modified (just changed 1600x1200 to 1400x1050 and instaled Gf Mx 440) and they worked fine (no black bar). But that was after instaling SP1. Right now i have "clean" system and with same drivers and inf a have black bar :) But i'm fighting with it and will post inf and drivers if i find a working couple. edid_disp.txt
Teraphy
Dape, appreciate the info and the response to this thread. However I believe in your case I'll also need your BIOS. I am under the impression things will be different on your BIOS. I have not run into an OEM build of B5 unless it was mistyped? C5? Your comment on SP1 could be a reason of the black bar. Also if you are attempting to install a newer build of 44.XX which was recently built then this will also contain the new black bar issue. If you were using the same 44.XX on SP1 as you are using now on the clean install then yes that is news. I'll finally be going through all the info posted again to double/triple check things. Thanks to everyone for posting the edid info :)
Guest benjy1984
Hi, I'm running a Satellite 2410-404, identical model to tunnelblick's above, but for some reason it misdetects my monitor as a max res of 1400x1050. No black bar (hurrah) but now the screen is unusable. Do i have to comment out anything in the inf to make it work with a 1024x768 screen? Teraphy
benjy1984, did you attempt with ministeve's 61.80? I found some confusion in all of the data collected so far. Mainly with 1400x1050 resolution users. Some new ones to try. 61.72 INFs for: 1024x0768 - nv4_disp_TOS5082.inf 1400x1024 - nv4_disp_TOS5086.inf 1600x1200 - nv4_disp_TOS5088.inf To be safer I named them. Rename to just nv4_disp.inf before installing. nv4_disp_TOS5082.inf nv4_disp_TOS5086.inf nv4_disp_TOS5088.inf

Guest vlad
hey, just tried 61,.72 with the latest inf posted here and it worked excellent (still gotta test black-screen-after standby issue though). Thanks a LOT - I almost lost a hope that there is a newer driver exist that will work w/o black bar on my toshi 5105-s501 here is my info for your reference Device Key: Enum\PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0174&SUBSYS_00011179&REV_A3 registry dum attached Btw, do u have any plans on merging those tweaks into infs published on download page? thnx again Vlad edid_disp.txt
Teraphy
Another happy customer :) Good to hear. Unfortunately, at this time there is no easy way to include the reg entries into the main INFs. This is due to the fact that similar systems can have varying display sizes. The only simple way would be to create a little program or even some PHP code to modify it on the fly based upon user selection. Not even a simple registry entry would work because you'd have to find the GUID of the key... (pertaining to the other thread) As for BIOS updating. That maybe be more difficult. BIOS editing would be easier but I don't think NVIDIA would like it.
Guest Vlad
Teraphy, could u post inf files for the latest release - 61.76 as I believe? Also, is it possible to get a diff file between original, before-black-bar-fixing INF and after - so I can play with other versions myself, knowing what to change. Or if u don't have diff utility - two files - original and fixed Thanks :) Vlad.

Guest benjy1984
Hi guys, Just tested Ministeve's 61.80 inf from earlier in this thread and i works like a charm. No black bar, screen comes on after standby, correctly detects max screen size. Big props to you lot, without you i'd still be stuck on Toshiba's 28.xx driver. Cheers again. Teraphy
Boris, you mean you can not get your resolution back after stand by or that it doesn't resume from stand by? Vlad, no. I don't deem those two lines crucial. However, I am unsure of their exact purpose.
